These are not the Atlanta Braves. These cannot be the Atlanta Braves.

God, I feel like a Royals fan right now.

I knew we wouldn't win. Geez, this is beyond rediculous.

Sosa to the pen

Quote:
Jorge Sosa is a dismal 1-9 as a starter. But he is the latest candidate to help plug the leaky Braves bullpen.

Manager Bobby Cox informed the right-hander of the move when he arrived at Turner Field on Wednesday, the day after he pitched six innings against Toronto.

"We'll give him a chance in the eighth and ninth innings and see how he does," Cox said. "He's got the stuff to do it and we need another option down there."

Cox said that Sosa could be ready to pitch out of the bullpen as early as Saturday, the middle of the Braves' three-game weekend series at Tampa Bay.

Sosa's scheduled start on Sunday at Tampa Bay is likely to be made by Chuck James, who would be recalled from Class AAA Richmond.

Converted reliever Lance Cormier - filling in for John Thomson - will start Saturday night against the Devil Rays.

LOL MrBrave. How long is this name gonna last? Before long you'll be BraveWayne again.

About Smotlz saying he'll be traded if it helps the team. You know what John, what would help the team the most is for you to go back to the pen and be our 7th-9th inning guy. I'm totally convinced that would help the team the most. I would be playing like crap offensively as well if I knew it didn't matter because the pen can never hold a lead.

Re: 2006 Atlanta Braves Discussion

I wholeheartedly agree...

Let Smoltzie go back to the pen. We DESPERATELY need help there, and no one will help us out trade-wise anyway, so that's the only move there is to make.

Bring up a young gun from the minors, let him take Smoltz' spot in the bullpen, and pray.

I don't think it is the matter of letting him go back in the pen, it's getting him back in the pen.
