Ballgame. Braves win 5-2. Great pitching by Ramirez.

If this were a Turner South commercial, Bobby Cox would appear on your shoulder and tell you that when he was your age he wouldn't have missed an interleague series...

Gosh I hate TS commercials. "This is MY SOUTH". Find a new slogan for Pete's Sake!

The Braves plan to activate Chris Reitsma from the disabled list on Friday with the hope that the former closer will prove much more productive in a reduced role.

In the five appearances he made before going on the disabled list on June 13 with numbness in his right hand, Reitsma posted a 21.21 ERA. During the 5 1/3 innings he completed during that span, he allowed 13 earned runs and surrendered 13 hits.

Reitsma says he's physically feeling much better and understands it might have been good for his mental health to simply get away from pitching for a few weeks.

"Maybe it was good for me to step off the mound for a couple of days and get some perspective," Reitsma said. "But I'm really looking forward to coming back to pitching."

Cox plans to continue using Ken Ray and Jorge Sosa as his primary relievers in the final two innings. Reitsma will be slowly worked back into the bullpen mix and likely won't see many appearances in crucial situations until he proves himself again.

Does anyone know when he proved himself the first time?
