Re: 2006 Atlanta Braves Discussion

I have no idea, but I doubt there'd be such a "big name" moved in the middle of the year like this, from our part at least.

We'll see what happens. I hope it's some minor leaguers for a LEGIT bullpen arm.

Re: 2006 Atlanta Braves Discussion

I hope we only have to give up a few minor leaguers to get some bullpen help as well. But if we want a "legit" bullpen arm, we may have to give up one of our major leaguers. I don't want to lose Giles, I really like him, but we really have to get some bullpen help .

If we trade Giles....I want someone better than a Linebrink. Then again, when you're in a position that we're in, you can't get choosy.

Well I'm hoping we can get someone better than Linebrink but, like you said, we can't be picky at this point. I just really don't want to see Sosa in the game in the 9th anymore.

In fact, I don't want to see Sosa anymore, period.

Any word on other relievers that might be available?

Re: 2006 Atlanta Braves Discussion

I just read on another forum that Bob Wickman, the closer for the Indians, has been traded to the Braves for a minor league catcher (Brayan Pena?). This hasn't been confirmed yet but it looks like a done deal.

edit: It is now confirmed. Bob Wickman is traded to the Braves for Max Ramirez.

Well, bullpen help is bullpen help. He's a bit older, but I guess experience comes along with that age. He should be solid, pretty good deal, IMO.
