Re: 2006 Atlanta Braves Discussion

Some of those blown saves came in the 7th and 8th innings, though, before Wickman would've even gotten a chance.

We'd be better, no doubt, but I just don't think Bob Wickman (or any other reliable closer) alone would take this team from near the bottom of the league to the top.

Yeah, Schuerholz totally dropped the ball in the offseason...

And there were some games where we had multiple blown saves. So just because we have 20 blown saves, or whatever it is, doesn't necessarily mean that we should have 20 more wins than we do.

Re: 2006 Atlanta Braves Discussion

Is it possible statistically to have more than 1 blown save in a game?

edit: Meaning, I know it sounds logical that it could happen, but could an official scorer give 2 blown saves? I've never seen that happen that I can think of.

yeah I guess. But I still think that the Braves would easily be at least within 3 games of the Mets had some kind of serious attention been made to the bullpen, rather than 5 games out of the wildcard and 8 freaking games under .500.

that's weird. Maybe they've changed it to the color for 1:00 home games rather than Sundays. I like to see the Braves come out with a similar jersey, but dark blue rather than red.

Yeah, I still haven't warmed up to the red uni yet. I do dig the alternate cap, though.

Scoreless first for James.
