With those 15 wins, yes, the Braves would be right there in contention with the Mets and there wouldn't be a Wildcard race in the NL because the loser of the East division would take it easily.
You do know that the Blown Save statistic refers to any relief pitcher blowing a lead on any inning after the starter has been replaced?

It doesn't applu only to blown games by a closer in the 9th inning.

We'd be better, no doubt, but I just don't think Bob Wickman (or any other reliable closer) alone would take this team from near the bottom of the league to the top.
Exactly my point.

Hell, I'd love to see Bobby show 1/100th of the emotion that Mora put forth there.

Yeah, I want to see Bobby fire these guys up. Why don't we hear anything about the veteran leadership that we have on this team? Smoltz, Hudson, the Jones' boys, Giles.....they should all be blowing fire out of their *** to motivate the others.

Re: 2006 Atlanta Braves Discussion

I changed my name again.

As soon as Steve responds to the request, I'll have another new name.

I know. I'm a sad, sad man.

I need help. I... I can't stop.

EDIT: So what do you guys think? I like it... yeah, this is the one!

(why doesn't anyone believe me when I say that?)

The veteran leadership is non-existant because they are all soft. They've never had to fight for it. They don't know what it means to be in the thick of things and having to actually step up and set the table to make a difference. But hell, at least Marcus and Druw actually have their asses out there on a daily basis trying to make the team better. Better than that fragile bastard who has a number ten hanging in his locker everyday.
