I wouldnt say half...Only Left Field and 2nd Base right now could you even consider Bench guys.

Im tellin ya the Braves have done a lot more then people are thinking...We got a Closer ..So Check that off. We got a good arm in the bullpen and Maybe 2 with Sturtze. We got a Starter who could be real good if everything goes fine, As good as gamble as anything we could of signed. Chipper Jones Staying Healthy would be another big thing.

The only thing in my opinion that we need is a Leadoff hitter either be Left Field or 2nd base and just put young guys at the spot we dont get anything for.

The Pirates' pursuit of Atlanta Braves first baseman Adam LaRoche, which has run hot and cold for more than a month, appears to be picking up steam again, sources close to the trade talks said Wednesday.

The chances of the Pirates making a trade with the Braves for LaRoche have improved now that Atlanta has backed off its request that left-handed starter Paul Maholm be included in a deal. However, the Braves are reluctant to deal LaRoche straight-up in a trade for closer Mike Gonzalez because of concerns about the left-hander's injury history.

Gonzalez converted all 24 save opportunities last season but missed the final 5½ weeks with a strained elbow. The 28-year-old has also had shoulder and knee surgeries during his career.

The Braves want the Pirates to include a second player in the deal, reportedly either second baseman Jose Castillo or center fielder Chris Duffy.

Screw that.

Make a deal with the O's, try to get Ray & Penn...want no part of any deal with the Pirates.

However, if it did, I can see Castillo and Gonzalez leaving. Reason being is that Castillo looks like he's getting demoted to the bench. Freddy Sanchez at 2B and a young guy, Jose Bautista at 3B.

If ATL needs starting pitching though, it isn't coming from Pittsburgh as the young starters are untouchable. I don't agree with that line of thinking, but the GM does. I'd trade Maholm in a heartbeat as I think he has the lowest ceiling of the starters, but again, the Pirates GM overvalues pitching. He has yet to realize ya can't win when ya can't score!
