Takes a ball outside
Borderline pitch on the outside called a strike, 1-2
Takes a ball in the dirt, 2-2
Pitch on the outside, fouled to the right
Hanging beaking ball fouled back
Strikes out on a pitch in the dirt, terrible swing

Crushed it to right-center...

Betemit has his 2nd double now, Pete Orr on to pinch-hit for Sosa.

Orr triples to left-center, Betemit scores. 4-3 now... Giles K's swinging to end the inning.


The home plate ump (C.B. Bucknor) has been awful tonight. Surprised Bobby hasn't been tossed yet...

Giles argues with Bucknor between innings, Bobby comes out to have a word...


Chuck James on in relief of Sosa... gets 'em 1-2-3, nice play by Renteria.

I agree with what the announcers were saying about Renterria, he's been a great acquisition. I wasn't too excited when the Braves got him, probably because of my AL prejudice, but he's been very clutch for the Braves. I hope he sticks around for a few years and not just have Atlanta as a pit stop like some others that have come through to fill in spots.

I didn't like giving up Marte for him, but he's been great so far... He's signed for the next 3 years at a reasonable amount, but we've got a 17-year old in A-ball (Elvis Andrus) who might give him a run in a couple years.

The more I see of Chuck James, the more I like him. Guy knows how to pitch... another 1-2-3.

Someone finally hits a ball hard off Chuck, and it left the yard. Rowand's 2-run shot makes it 6-3.

Damn, what happened Chuck!? Another homer, it's 7-3... Cormier coming on in relief.
