Hate to say it, but I think it might be about time for Jeff to spend some time in beautiful Richmond, VA...

Re: 2006 Atlanta Braves Discussion

He's trying to learn on the job, and it clearly isn't working out for him. He probably should spend a few weeks at triple A. He doesn't have enough natural ability with his hand-eye coordination to get away with being such an extreme free-swinger at the Major League level. Until he learns how to judge a ball from a strike consistently he won't be able to play as well as he can.

I agree, It would not hurt that much to put him in the Minors for al il while and Let Matt Diaz play some right field for a few weeks

I'd rather have Jeff playing than have any of our other choices. I think Jeff's potential and great fielding gives him a lead over Diaz and Jordan. Also, I would only want Jordan in there against lefties, but he does more good at 1st platooning for LaRoche. Maybe let Kelly Johnson/Diaz play a little more to give Francoeur some time to think, but I wouldn't send him down.

Re: 2006 Atlanta Braves Discussion

I think Diaz would be okay if he got a chance to get some consistent AB's... though if it comes down to Jeff vs Jordan, Frenchy all the way.

Realistically, they're probably not going to send Jeff down. Not anytime soon, anyway. Bobby's a helluva lot more patient than I am, for sure. Which is one reason he's been so successful.

But Jeff looks utterly clueless at the plate. This didn't just start, either, he's hitting like .180-something since last August... I'm a little surprised he hasn't at least been moved down in the order.

I think once Renterria gets back he will drop to the 7th spot in the order because I thinking Langerhans will take the spot right before or after LaRoche.

But if Cox wants to make a point about it, stick him in the 8th spot. McCann doing alright this year.

Langer's been scuffling a bit, too... come to think about it, he started to cool off around the time I dropped him as my avatar.

Guess I need to fix that.
