Stop it, now....just stop it.

This game is embarrassing...and Pujols just went deep again. Absolutely pathetic.

I admit I was a front-runner, but I was 5 years old, cut me a break.

At least you didn't make up some bull**** reason to prove your alliance. I guess that's worth something.

Re: 2006 Philadelphia Phillies Thread

Just got back. I think I deserve some kind of merit badge for sticking it out for 7 innings of that horse**** today.

As someone said two years ago after we got blown out by the Pirates in the grand opening game at Citizens Bank Park....putting that team in that ballpark is like putting lipstick on a pig.

Pujols is worth the price is admission though. What an absolute beast of a hitter.

I have a better question. Why did we trade for Dellucci to provide LH pop off the bench and then refuse to pinch hit him for Lieberthal, arguably our worst hitter, against a RHP with men on base in the bottom of the 9th trailing by a run?

I feel like we should have a separate thread devoted solely to Manuel's idiocy this year....

Edit: The answer to this question, of course, is because Manuel burned Dellucci leading off the 8th inning. But the fact remains that I'd rather have Nunez lead off the 8th to save Dellucci, or I'd rather have Nunez batting in the 9th instead of Lieberthal. Frankly, I'd rather have pretty much anyone hitting in place of Lieberthal.

In summary, Lieberthal sucks. Can't hit, can't throw out runners, can't call a good game, lacks any shred of leadership, etc. He brings nothing to the table.

Re: 2006 Philadelphia Phillies Thread

Izzy was having control problems in the 9th during last night's game. I told my wife, Lieberthal would come up and swing at the first pitch. He did, and the pitch was nowhere near a strike. He then hits a weak grounder on the second pitch to end the game.

He lacks any baseball sense.
