Re: 2007 Atlanta Braves Discussion

Geez! We keep on giving these type games away. This is getting old but at least the Mets lose another one to keep us 3 1/2 back. I said that the Phils is the team I'm worried about. Maybe not only for the wild card battle but also for the division title. If we don't start putting games like this away then we can kiss any playoff hopes down the drain. It's just flat out frustrating.

Win 2 lose 2 win 1 lose 2 seems to be our method of play & that's not gonna get us anywhere. We need a winning streak but that's gonna be tough because of upcoming games & especially our method of operation. There's just no excuse in losing most of these games that we give away. Sometimes a team can take one away but not this many. We have no swagger in us at all. No killer instinct! It's like we're waiting to lose the darn game instead of putting them away. Thanks!

That loss against the Phillies last night hurts pretty bad right now.

Especially when you get a 4-0 lead in the first. Now I didn't expect Chuck James to throw a shutout, but you have to find a way to get out of the first inning without giving up four runs. The momentum just died after that, which shows you why the Braves only got one more hit.

I'm not the kind to blame the umpires by any stretch, but a couple of those strikes in the ninth against Willie Harris and Escobar were rather questionable. Oh well, it happens. Atlanta has to come out and win this game today. No question about it.

Cormier made it through 4 in fine fashion, leading 6-1... fell apart in the 5th, though.

Great job by Mahay to keep it 6-4 Braves after 5.

Re: 2007 Atlanta Braves Discussion

Good grief, another homerun given up by Soriano. Luckily just a solo shot and the Braves are still up 7-5.

EDIT: And that is the final.

Braves back in 2nd place, and last I saw the Mets were losing their game. Could be 2.5 back.

...and the Mets have lost.

Also picked up a game in the Wild Card, just a half-game back there.

That was a good win tonight. Of course Wickman gave us a little scare, but I'm use to that by now.

A win tomorrow, and things are going to get very interesting in the NL East race down the stretch. I don't know whats up with the Mets. You can't lose to the Marlins at a time like this. Oh well, I'm not complaining.

Here's to a win tomorrow and a Mets loss. I just hope Soriano gets back to the dominant Soriano he was from the start of the year.

Re: 2007 Atlanta Braves Discussion

Carlyle has taken over the 3rd spot in the rotation now. James is way too inconsistent. We need him to step up & whoever for that 5th spot. Cormier isn't terrible but not what you're looking for down the stretch. IMO, I think Lerew could be that 5th guy but he's injured. Thanks!
