My bad. I would think that Glavine will fall in the #3 slot in the rotation, behind Smoltz and Hudson.

Another familiar face will be in Braves camp, Javy Lopez has been signed to a minor league deal with a Spring Training invite... it seems he'll get to compete with Clint Sammons, Corky Miller, and I guess Brayan Pena for the backup catcher spot.

Any idea if we're still in the running to get Damian Miller? I wouldn't mind seeing him backup McCann.

LOL, While were at it we might as well sign Otis Nixon to play center field this year.

I wouldn't mind having the veteran leadership of Javy around. He, Smoltz and Glavine all know what it is like to win and can impart that wisdom on the young guys. Plus, it wouldn't be bad to have him to play against tough lefties.

Re: 2007 Atlanta Braves Discussion

I was thinking ... and please note, this is far from a legit rumor:

You think the Braves would go after Brian Roberts? I understand he was just named in the report, but the Braves have 2 open spots in the outfield, one of which could be filled by Kelly Johnson if they decide to move him for Prado or ... BRob. They haven't had a pure leadoff hitter since Furcal left, and he and Kelly could really set the table while Yunel can progress from the 7 or 8 hole. Maybe it doesn't fit since the Braves are clearly making an effort to restock the system. And maybe with Lillibridge in the organization it doesn't make sense, but since there's a fire sale in Baltimore, I wonder what it would take to land him?

Thoughts?
