Everybody in ATL hates him because he's hitting like .062.

He's better than that, though, obviously. Probably won't hit for a great average, but walks a fair amount. They should like that in Oakland... strikes out a lot as well.

Defensively, he's one of the best. Outstanding at all 3 OF positions. I still contend that he's (currently) better defensively than Andruw Jones, though that's arguable. Regardless, he's really good with the glove.

Really?
I didn't realize that he was that good defensively.
Just wore out his welcome?....or just no room with Diaz around?

He is in my opinion, though I may be his biggest fan so I could be a bit biased...

It's a bit un-Bravelike move, they're usually more patient than to dump a guy after a lousy few weeks.... Diaz hasn't exactly been tearing the cover off the ball either, so I don't think it's that. And Diaz is nowhere near Langerhans defensively.

It'll be interesting to see who the PTBNL is. Speculation I've read elsewhere is that it could be Brad Halsey, which would make a little more sense with the back-end of the Braves rotation being so poor.

Though I expect it'll just be some AAA roster-filler type.

I just don't understand the move. It can't be because his slow start hitting this year. He has had .350 OBP the past 2 years, that is not too bad for a good defensive left fielder who is a left bat of the bench. Something just doesnt add up to me.

Is there some kind of stud in the waiting??

Don't know if either of them qualify as studs, but Gregor Blanco and Brandon Jones are a couple guys knocking on the door. Though if this move was made to make way for one of them, you'd figure they'd have been called up instead of journeyman Willie Harris.

Interesting note, Brad Halsey is scheduled to have an MRI Tuesday, it could be that they're waiting for the results to finalize that end of the deal. Purely speculative, though.

The A's aren't expected to give up much to complete the deal, most likely a minimal sum of cash or a marginal minor-leaguer. Langerhans, 27, is out of options and his time with Oakland might be short as the A's outfielders regain their health.

If this is all we're getting then it seems kinda pointless. Meh.

Damn Langerhans and his no offense. I'm going to miss his glove, though.

I'd really doubt Halsey, I bet some cash, we need bodies right now.

Thanks for the scouting report.
Being an A's fan, I know how it feels to lose a favorite player on your team (we're kinda experts with that).
