Looks like he made one start in 2003. Wonder how he did?

No kidding. That was a BOMB. It was easily 410 feet over the center field fence.

I thought the funniest part was how the announcers were saying something about how poorly Davies was hitting. I think he was 0-2 with a walk at that point.

I know when he was with Atlanta before that he wasn't a starter. However, he has switched to that role now. Actually, I think there just wasn't a spot for him as a starter back when he was on the Braves before. We had the rotation pretty much set so therefore he was assigned basically a MR/LR role as a Brave then. He was pretty highly thought of in the past but due to the depth of the rotation back then he just never really got the chance. I think his chance should be now. He's doing really well at Richmond right now & he's certainly not old either. Thanks! I'm hoping for a sweep of the Mets but with Perez pitching tonight then I'm not too confident. Perez has the Braves number even though he can't seem to figure out most other teams.

Re: 2007 Atlanta Braves Discussion

We are going to need that 5th guy come Saturday. I wonder what Cox will do when it comes time for the call-up. They have replaced Redman with Devine but he's definitely not a starter so will he be the one to go back down or will they send someone like McBride back down? It's gonna be either Hodges or Carlyle to get the nod so who goes?

Another rough outing by Chuck James tonight. 4.2 IP, 7 Hits, 3 Runs, 3 BB, 2 K's. I know Chuck will get in a groove eventually but the Braves need him to pitch well with current state of the back-end of our rotation.

Yeah! Chuck needs to get things going for us. And, look who done it to us again last night. The old Braves bat killer in Oliver Perez. It's just puzzling to see this because Perez can't shut down any other team but the Braves. I guess it's kind of like how Chipper usually does very well against the Mets no matter who is pitching. We can't do anything against Perez no matter who is at the plate. It has to be frustrating to the Braves hitters because I'm very frustrated watching it. Unless we get some better clutch hitting & something done with the back end of the rotation(except for maybe Davies now) then we're not gonna keep pace with the Mets in the division race. I still think we can make a run at the wild card even if we fall further back to the Mets. Thanks!

From that site it says 4 2/3 innings and only 1 earned run...Not bad but I'd like if he could atleast get a whole 5 possibly 6 in.

Re: 2007 Atlanta Braves Discussion

Smoltz going after win #200 against Glavine...how perfect is that?

I've still got Glav's 200th on tape somewhere.

EDIT: No Chipper tonight.
