Damn Gonzalez, man.

As for the win total, I'll say 234.

That's a good one Knight! Thus is certainly bad news indeed. I mean not only is he the best lefty we had out of the BP but possibly the best overall stuff out the bullpen. This really upsets me! Where do we go now? Minors? FA route? McBride doesn't even compare to Gonzo period but at least he does have major league experience. The old injury bug is hitting MLB teams very hard this year. I just hope we can bounce back from this terrible news & get things back on track now. We are struggling in nearly every phase of the game right now even though we did take the last series from the Mets. Andruw has got to get his bat going & Chipper back in the line-up.

McCann isn't exactly lighting things up either but he's still not 100% after that finger injury. I think Salty needs to get in the line-up possibly at 1B now since he's been practicing over there behind Thorman. Thorman still should be the regular but let's get Salty some AB's either at 1B or more at C. He can hit from both sides of the plate so that's an advantage too. Thanks!

Us Phils fans will take the win, but I feel sorry for you guys with the news about Gonzalez. That's a tough blow. Good luck with trying to replace him, guys.

I'm not saying he can't do it but he has experienced some arm problems in the past. He is signed with the Braves through 2008 so definitely he will pitch that long unless some type injury . I'm glad the big 3 have gotten their 200th win with the Braves indeed. BTW, I seen on last nights telecast that Buddy Carlyle gets the nod instead of Trey Hodges this Saturday. I was hoping to see Hodges but they decided to go with Carlyle instead. I wonder who they'll send down now? I guess Devine goes back down! Thanks guys!
The contract extension Smoltz just signed with Atlanta includes options for both the 2009 and 2010 season so if both those options are picked up and he pitches through 2010 he will be 43 years old. I think 250 wins is possible if everything works out in regard to his contract options, him staying healthy, and him being able to still pitch at a dominant level while he is in his 40's.

Yeah! I agree that if he can stay healthy then he certainly has a good shot at 250 wins. Glad to see also that this appears to be a chance with the team he's been with most of his career. Thanks!
