Re: 2011 Florida Marlins

Heh kinda a confusing way to start off the season, losing series 1-2 to the Mets. Game 1 we looked great, game 2 was still alright in a loss, and game 3 was just terrible.

Javier was terrible, Nolasco and JJ were great tho, bullpen was decent tho besides Ryan Webb in game 2. Gaby Sanchez looks like a stud and I had a hard time believing he could do what he did last season. Logan Morrison was getting on base a lot it seemed. Atleast we'll get Stanton back Tuesday, really excited to see him especially after that double he cranked in his first AB

Re: 2011 Florida Marlins

I now see why people don't show up to our games after Opening Day. Yesterday was just too damn hot and it's only the first week of April. By about the 4th inning we couldn't take it anymore so we walked until we found seats that had some shade. It also didn't help that Vazquez stunk up the show in his debut.

Day game in Sunlife are brutal unless you're in shade, at night it's not so bad at all.

Hope Hanley isn't out for too long. That was a nasty collision.

Re: 2011 Florida Marlins

Collision certainly looked like it could have possibly taken Hanley out for the season, luckily it looks like he'll be back Tuesday.

Some observations(only 9 games so taken with a grain of salt)
Chris Coghlan can definitely play CF.
Logan Morrison and Gaby Sanchez have shown no signs of a sophomore slump.
Offense can get on base, but not very good with RISP.
Leading MLB in Doubles, good considering the hitters and ballpark we have. HR total will increase when Hanley starts to hit and Stanton back in the line up now.
Bullpen has been good for the most part so far.
Josh Johnson and Nolasco outstanding, great sign for Nolasco.
Javier has been terrible with his command.
Greg Dobbs has been tremendous in pinching hitting and spot starts

Re: 2011 Florida Marlins

Marlins sweep series against Pirates, 2 shutouts and the bats were certainly alive with 21 runs during the 3 games and improving to 11-6 on the season right behind the Phillies in the NL East.

Logan Morrison out 2-4 weeks sucks, but Stanton looks like he's getting into things just needed the ABs he missed from spring(Hit a nice line drive HR over wall in LF), and Bonifacio/Cousins produced in these 3 games, Hanley isn't getting the hits but he's getting nice ABs with some walks and starting to heat up on basepaths
