Offense is mind boggling bad.

Pillar has lost any plate discipline he showed in the second half of last season. He swung at one outside pitch that was like a foot outside.

Yeah, this team is in a major funk at the plate and it's even showing a little bit on the defensive side with some weird plays/situations like that ball that went right through Donaldson's glove.

I wonder if this is a case of a team that went into the season believing in the hype and reading the headlines too much. It's too bad Gibby is not the kind of manager that sits down and talks to his players because this feels like a situation where the manager needs to press the reset button and give everyone a kick in the pants.

Stuff has been ominous and weird since the AA business began. No, I am not making any statement about AA, I'm just commenting there has been an awkward air about everything around this team since

Colabello's news sucked. I really liked him last season, but his statement was a denial. Dude, you took a banned substance, got caught, appealed and lost. Own it and move on. Denial makes it worse.

On AA, I appreciate the awesome moves he made (Tulo, Price, Donaldson, and some under the radar ones like Lowe and Revere), but I also remember that he traded Syndegaard and D'Arnaud out of the system.

I hope today's game will be a real sign for the offense. Happ continues to be a bright spot so let's keep this going boys

Nice to see the offense picking up now though it's troubling that Martin seems to have a neck problem right now. If that becomes a long term situation this team is screwed behind the plate.
