Would y'all give up whatever it takes to get Merrifield? I can't decide. He's a great fit right now, but was a major late bloomer and I don't know if his numbers are sustainable over the next 4 years to justify moving 3-4 important pieces.

Breaking my long OS posting drought for the Cubs thread....

I think Merrifield is the perfect fit for this team, but that asking price is gonna be awfully high for a 30 year old whose game is built on speed.

If the Royals would take Happ + Russell + a prospect and then throw in Jake Diekman i'd be all about it.....but I sort of doubt that would get it done

(That did sort of hurt to write cause I love Happ even though he's got some glaring holes, and would kind of hate to see him go)

Ben Zobrist making his way up to AAA Iowa this weekend. I think he's gonna make it back in time to be postseason eligible.
