    Chicago Cubs OSFM 1.0 Thread

This thread is intended to comment on my Cubs roster I worked on for Knight165 in the OSFM Community Project.

Included in the set is the following:

    All Minor League players

Updated faces for all Minor League players and pitchers

Updated stances for all Minor League players and pitchers

Updated deliveries for all Minor League pitchers

Updated ratings for all Minor League players (based off of MiLB.com)

Updated equipment for all Minor League players and pitchers

Lineups were handled by Knight165 (gave him the roster too soon)

No pitch edits/deliveries/stances/equipment for SCEA MLB players (next update)

What's up next in the next update?

Updated pitcher delivers/stances/pitch edits for SCEA pitchers

Updated equipment for all SCEA players

    Updated stances for SCEA players

    Updated Minor League rosters
    In depth lineups and rotations

    Updated Major League rosters
    In depth lineups and rotations

The roster is in the vault, however it is an old version of the roster and some of the faces were not completed in it. Some of the equipment and other edits were also not included. The roster that Knight165 will release for opening day will have everything stated above.

Here is where Cubs fans can give information about mistakes on players or how well a player was made. If you want to check out the roster in it's beta version, check out chns created by authentic_OS in the roster vault. Let it begin! 2011!!

Also, once the version is released for opening day, I will be editing all the things I mentioned above and releasing that set. I would reccommend waiting for the full version to be released by the community however.

Did you happen to use the Cubs edits forum for the Cubs MLB players? Just curious

I do use that sometimes. They do a great job and will be giving them credit for the players I use from them. Some players aren't mentioned, I do myself which just takes a little more time. If the roster comes out tonight, I will have all the stuff done by tomorrow night. Cubs fans don't start your Franchise right away, sit tight and they will be completed in no time.

Depending what Knight did with the minors players and their potentials will need some work.

The player potentials are spot on my man. I believe I made Jackson an A, Vitters a B, Carpenter a B, Dolis a B, McNutt a B, Shafer a B, LeMahieu a B, and I believe one more B. The Cubs aren't really deep in the Minors now that they traded away Archer and Lee, and even Guyer.

They weren't in the version I downloaded. The scrub they picked up from Atlanta was an A. Burgess was D. Reggie Golden Matt Sczcur weren't in the set and you also had kyle smit as a B. Etc. I posted about it in the OSFM Thread

The A's in the roster were: Jackson, Mcnutt, jeffery antigua, tyrelle harris, brett wallach. Kyle smit was a B so was fernando perez.lemehiue is a C in the roster I'm looking at right now.

They were changed around a little bit. I have seen every single one of the AAA, AA and a few A players play for a a good week when I was in Arizona. I know what they are like Burgess, after talking to an actual scout is said to be really lazy, also Scurzer is 3-4 maybe 5 years away. He said the talents that have the tools to make it to the bigs this year was possibly Jackson....The prospects that are close are McNutt, Antigua, Harris, Smit, Perez. Not trying to say you don't know the Cubs but this is about as good of a source as you can get.

Vitters really needs to start proving that he's a B potential.

He's never done anything and is "old" for the level he's going to be playing at.

I gave Vitters a B because he has great hands. His swing is smooth and the ball jumps off his bat. Vitters needs to stay healthy and get some confidence and he'll be ok.

                          Hopefully.

It's just been getting old hearing about the guy and having him get talked about every year, only to end up not hitting and hurt.

Ok? And I see the I Cubs and Peoria Cubs play 50 games a season.

Sczcur needs to be in the set. He's a consensus Top 10 prospect. He's not 4-5 years away. The organization will have him on the 40 man this season as part of his contract and some projections have him in Wrigley as soon as 2013 Opening Day moving Jackson over to his more natural CF position.

Simply because a guy is close to the majors doesn't make him an "A". Reggie Golden is maybe the most talented kid in the organization now...along with Sczcur. Both guys are borderline A type prospects but more than likely B's.

Kyle Smit being a B is off. He wasn't even a Top 20 Dodgers prospect. Wallach was the more highly regarded of the two and he was just scraping the Dodgers top 20 at the time of the trade. For him to be an A is off.

Ty'relle Harris was the less of the prospects acquired for Lee. Robinson Lopez was the more highly regarded. Harris being an A just isn't right.

Burgess may be "lazy" to one scout but he can still play and is still a Top 10 prospect for the organization. He's more than likely a late season call up this year and in the mix next season come Opening Day.

I posted about all this over in the OSFM thread.

You start off with a pretty well held Top 10 across the board from various resources:

                            Brett Jackson,OF
                            Trey McNutt,SP
                            Josh Vitters,3B
                            Christopher Carpenter, RP
                            Hayden Simpson, SP
                            Jay Jackson, SP
                            Michael Burgess, OF
                            Reggie Golden, OF
                            Rafael Dolis, SP
                            Matt Szczur, OF

11-16 Are all pretty consistantly in that range as well.

                            Wellington Castillo, C
DJ LeMehieu, 2B/SS--I've seen him flip flopped with Dolis making DJ a Top 10. Which I'm fine with. Most resources still have him as around 10-12 but if he's inside the Top 10 I wouldn't disagree with anyone. More than likely he's deserving of B potential. He has done nothing but produce at every level.
Marquez Smith, 3B/2B--I'm not as high on him but whenever he is ranked (3 of the 8 resources I used, he was 9,10 or 11th)
Robinson Lopez, RP---Big potential with electric stuff but still a big unknown. Seen him as ranked high as 8th or as low as not at all.
                            Ryan Flaherty, 3B/2B
Jae- Hoon Ha, OF---I'm really high on him. He's in the top 10 in multiple publications recently because of a great season at Peoria. 19 years old. IMO he projects to be a Shin Soo Choo type guy. I have him #16 just because it's close to his average rank and he hasn't produced above A ball yet. IMO though next season he's a Top 10.

17-36 is all over the place. Older AA guys. Really young A ball players but none of them really saw any rankings above 15.

                            Aaron Kurcz, RP
                            AJ Morris, RP
                            Austin Reed, SP
                            Brett Wallach, SP
                            Ben Wells, SP
Matt Cerda, 2B/3B--Some people are really high on him(seen him as high as the 12 or so) but IMO he's the infielding version of Sam Fuld. Maxes out somewhere around a AAAA player and a guy who can player all over the infield but lacks any real big league potential.
                            Austin Kirk,RP
                            Kyle Smit, RP
                            Alberto Cabrera, RP
                            Su-Min Jung, RP
Jin-Yeong Kim, SP--High Schooler from Korea. MiLB debut this season.
Junior Lake, SS--Some people really like him(mid teens/Top 300 guy) but most don't even list him.
                            Jeff Antigua, RP
                            Chris Rusin, SP
                            Michael Brenly, C
                            Cameron Greathouse, RP
                            Zach Rosscup, RP
                            Aaron Shafer, RP
                            Brooks Raley, SP

I actually had Brenly in the set. I think Knight probably put Scurzer in instead. Can't get everyone in which sucks.
