    Are waiver trades allowed?

This is a random question but I haven't reached that part of my franchise yet but if this huge waiver trade between the Red Sox and Dodgers happens and I want to mimic it on Aug. 25 of my season, will I be allowed to? Are waiver trades allowed and if not, how would I go about making the "trade"?

yeah you have to have your players clear trade waivers. The other teams also put players on trade waivers but you can't control who goes on waivers for CPU teams.

You can, only if you set manual control rosters for all 30 teams.

I do have control over all 30 teams, so do I just place all guys on waivers and then I'm able to trade them or how does it work? Again, I haven't reached the waiver period in my season so maybe it doesn't show up as an option yet?

I ran into the same problem before the deadline with the Dodgers, trying to get Victorino and Blanton, but I was over budget. What I had to do is, place the player on trade waivers like normal, then just have the team claim the player, when the waiver period is up dont pull the player off waivers. So the player get claimed and goes to the new team, it doesnt show a trade, but the player is on the team.

Won't claiming a player put them over budget?

Yes it will, however the player will still be on your team, it just means you cant sign any fa's during the season, im unsure about offseason as I havent reached that point yet, and if your team does sign a fa , I usually sign him to another team, release him, then have claim him off waivers and then he's on your team like normal. Its only way i figured to keep realistic rosters for the Dodgers adding all that payroll. Im around 38 mil over budget but Im still playing a game with Gonzalez at 1st base, so it works for me.

So the team will be over budget but it will still allow the roster move to happen? (Unlike the trade which it won't even let happen).
