    Trinity's FINAL Veteran Settings/Slider set

After many many MANY gms i finally found a "perfect" set imo, for my personal style and liking(to each is his own).

    GAMEPLAY SETTINGS:

API: On (And again, I ALWAYS pitch what pitch type and location catcher chooses).

    Ump balls/strikes: Variable (A MUST)

    Diff: Veteran

    Pitch Intrfce: Meter

    Guess Pitch: 1/4

Auto baserunning: Auto(personal preference, doesnt matter. only thing is that cpu likes to go to third from first on singles, hv been thrown out a few times, as have i thrown out the cpu. so its fair!)

Swing influence: Off(never have even tried it, nor want to. dont think it effects anything on veteran anyway)

    Pitcher Confidence: On(definate must)

Field assist: Auto(personal pref again, fair that my fielders react and play to their ratings, not my gameplay.)

PCI: Off(had it on until i got timing down right, so if ur havin trouble hitting, do that until u get better. it really helps u seee how the game works with hitting, and with guess pitch at 1/4 u can really see it).

    Strike zone: On

    Hot zones: Off

Add or substracting from default setting which is 5

    GLOBAL SLIDERS

    Pitch spd: -5

Field Errors: -2(was averaging at least 1 error a game either for me or cpu, and too many bobbled balls in infield that wasnt scoring as errors but in my mind they were).

    Throw errors: -5

    Fielder run spd: -5

    Fielder reaction: -5

    Fielder arm strength: -5

    Baserunner spd: 0

Steal ability: +2(getting caught, and throwin cpu out too often, may move uup 1 more later).

Steal freq: +1(may go up more cuz i have auto base running on, cpu will attempt for me which is mkinda cool. i cn still do it myself tho. but i dont think the attempt enough against me or for me.)

Wind: 0 (hard to even tell when wind is effecting the ball or not)

Injury freq.: 0 (enough injuries when simming already to keep u busy enough in ur chise or season).

    USER SLIDERS

    Contact: 0

Power: +5 (lol.. never thought Id have to ever max out human power on a baseball game).

    Timing: +2

Fouls: -1 (have yet to figure out exactly what this does bso just gonna leave it here, prolly would be fine at default).

    Solid hits: +4

    SP stamina: 0

RP stamina: -3 (able to go too many innings in a game with mrp's imo... this seemed to be needed)

Pitcher control: -5 (throwing bb's now!!)

Pitcher consistency: -3 (combo of these two are "perfect")

    CPU SLIDERS

    Contact: -5

    Power: -5

    Timing: -5

Fouls: -3 (again, dont know what it does, but getting good results with these sliders as is)

    Solid hits: -5

    SP stamina: 0

    RP stamina: -3

    Pitcher control: -5

    Pitch consistency: -3

    Strike freq.: -5

    Manager hook: 0

Pickoff: -5 (still throw over too much if u take just one step, annoying but ohh well!)

Really try these guys, even try my gameplay settings with auto fielding and baserunning... i think you'll enjoy the results! post game stats and feedback. nothing is perfect b so if we,re seeing somthng throughout all of us we can address and try to fix. thanks to all who helped test my first version!

These are perfect, thanks for sharing bro. I'm having some really good games with these. Walks, doubles, the whole nine yards.

Glad to hear! They are very good sliders, i just had a gr8 game in my opening day game for the indians.

Btw.. i placed ben sheets on the rangers? did he sign with them? i just saw the rumor and did it. i dont hv online so had to manually do it.

        CLE 2 7 0
        TEX 0 5 0 No HRs

pitched a CG shutup with Cliff Lee, with 0 bb, and 10k

Sheets was tough! Can def tell difference of opposing pitchers.

Trying um out seems more my style slow nice pace .
?s I play with classic pitch and No guess pitch when I bat.
will this make a difference as it will cut down on mistake pitches ?
            I Also dont use powerswing
            thanks
Oh do you see a greater difference between the ace and 5th starter ?

I never use power swing either. definately a difference between pitchers, theres no way carl pavano is pitching a CG shutout like i was able to with lee. im online thru my cell, need to go to my mom's soon to get online with the game to upload them. cpu still tries to pick u off alot tho, and i love the auto fielding. this game is messed up on default fielding, it always switched u to the wrong guy, so led to unecessary hit for cpu.

Glad u like them tho, guess i shoul've mentioned that i never use power swing, eveen when i guess pitch correctly. Played 2 gms of my season, and have yet to hit a HR haha.

These sliders are really nice, I use them for my franchise. My last game i drew 5 walks, hit 2 HR but I love how even on Veteran, the computer gives you a nice battle. Makes the game very realistic.

Thanks for the feedback! minor change, as i figured would happen, but RP stamina for cpu and human has to go to -5. its too unrealistic the amount of innings they can go as mrp's. only thing i'll have to watch for is how quickly they recover. if anyone does -5, lemme know about recovery, but early on with simming a few games it seems fine

Re: Trinity's FINAL Veteran Settings/Slider set

I like the basics of this slider set....but I have different results on some of the stuff then you are having. For one, I have become better at hitting and I strike out quite infrequently unless I LOWER contact from default by a couple of clicks. This seems to do the trick. I was also hitting about .300 as a team until I did this. (I am the Dodgers)

As far as power goes, I had it at default and had no problem hitting HRs in my first 4 games with the Dodgers. Kemp had 2, Manny had 2, Martin had 1, O-Dog had 1.....so i had 6 HRs in 4 games. But in my last 3 games, I have failed to hit one....so maybe I will have to increase the power slider like you did. Although, I feel like giving this a few more games before I come to that conclusion.

I really like the pitcher control and strike percentage sliders being all the way to the left for both human and CPU. If you are patient, you can draw plenty of walks (depending on who you are facing). On the flip side, sometimes my pitcher just loses it and can't find the strike zone no matter how good I am at the meter. I like that....also if you follow the catcher's advice and try to nibble, you will definitely walk people.

The CPU's power and hit quality needs to stay at default IMO, or even up a click or two. So far, in 7 games, I have given up 6 HRs...seems about right to me. My team ERA is just above 4 so far, so I feel the CPU is fair in what they bring to the plate. And once I master the pitching, I feel the CPU offense will be a little anemic, so I may up those sliders to give me more of a challenge.

Also, in 7 games, I have yet to committ an error. I have fielding errors ALL THE WAY UP for both sides, and the CPU has made like 2 errors in 7 games. I am having the total opposite experience in this regard to you. Weird, but maybe we just need a larger sample size???? I did turn down throwing errors by one or two clicks because in exhibitions games I was seeing to many throwing errors. But, not anymore.

The game is well balanced and only needs a few minor tweaks to represent a great game of baseball. I am having a blast playing on Veteran. I am 4-3 so far, and feel like I am getting a good challenge. I have played SD and ARI on the road, and now I am playing SF at home. These are not great teams, and all three of these teams have poor offenses, IMO. So, to have given up more than 4 runs a game and to be 4-3 after 7 games against inferior teams, I must say that this level is challenging. Trinity, your sliders are very nice and for the most part I am using your set with the few above tweaks.

By the way, this game is unbeliveable. I put the Dodgers HR song (Zombie Nation) into the game for the entire lineup, and when I finally hit a HR at Dodger stadium and hear that song I am gonna get goosebumps, I just know it!

                    HAPPY GAMING!

Re: Trinity's FINAL Veteran Settings/Slider set

I'm torn, really, because I enjoy these hitting sliders (I play with Guess Pitch off, as not having it helps me. If I have it on I commit too easily), but the pitching is much to easy. I wish I could just hit on rookie and pitch on legend, because I just went out and pitched 3.0 IP, 1 H, 1 BB, 2 K, with Gabe Gross after I pinch hit Shields in the 5th. All of my pitching measures are all the way to the left, I play with no ball marker or strike zones either (but I need the strike zone to hit well =p). I would love if they made seperate difficulty settings for hitting and pitching next year, but I know thats a pipe dream. I'm averse to increasing the CPU hitting abilities because I'm afraid that its going to effect the final stats at the end of the season (the team batting averages are already too high). Any suggestions?

I would suggest for ur pitching, to adjust sliders to where i have them. Always, ALWAYS use API, and pitch where catcher suggests everytime no matter what. For ur hitting, not sure cuz im not the greatest at timing so these sliders help me with that and have had good results.

GOing to move Fielding errors up all the way like u have. i just noticed on my profile, thru 7 gms played i have 100% fielding, so see what happens. it was more just that i was seeing bobbled or dropped balls when attempting to throw to a base which never scored as errors but to me they were
