    PS2 Diagnostic Mode On?

I've read at other forums that by turning Diagnostic Mode on from your PS2 menu (no disk inserted), that this could possibly be a solution to the game freezing.

I'm by no means here to declair this a sure fire fix, but it is what somebody had emailed back to them from Sony Support.

i ve seen some people here in this forum saying they still ogt freezes after this, and that this is BS as if you call sony for any reason they will tell you to do that...but i think you should give it a try..maybe works for ya.

It's worked for me so far. Didn't work with my original, so I made a back-up of my original hoping it was something media related. The back-up on it's own froze, but when I turned on Diagnosis or whatever it's called, so far no freezes after 5 games.

Does the diagnosis even do anything mechanically in the PS2? I think it's BS>

                    Re: PS2 Diagnostic Mode On?

I actually got some freezes with diagnostic mode on using the original disc & a backup disc. Much less freezing than without using diagnostic mode, though.

What stopped the freezing for me was changing the "Game Presentation" mode from Many to Normal. I haven't had a freeze in 20 games whereas I was getting freezes every game normally, & a freeze every other game in diagnostic mode.

Great game, not perfect, but lots of fun!

                        Re: PS2 Diagnostic Mode On?

I had my first freeze lastnight. I have the diagnostics turned on. Weird thing happened, too. I'm playing using the "manage only mode". I "fast forward" to inning 7. The sound faded, until a ball was hit then it faded back in, then out. I Fast play to inning 9 thinking that it would "resync" with the game, and that's when the game froze.
