    Somebody can answer this?

I want to start a roster update for myself, however (and I haven't gotten a response it the roster forums) does anyone know if SCEAs roster updates, let's say when they add Piazza and Weaver, they have the players faces and the names are said during the game? If the SCEA updates includes the faces and names said, I'll just wait awhile longer.

Sorry to double post it, but I'm bored here at the house waiting for the carpenters to finish redoing my kitchen cabinets.

In the most recent update, they just have the generic pictures and are announced by their number.

Great, that was quick. I'll do my own roster. Thanks.

Why are they not saying their names? It's not like they are unknown ballplayers. They have the code from last years game that says their names? I can deal with no pictures but why no names being announced when coming to bat? Makes no sense.

I don't know, that's what Bravegamer said. I know created players they just say their number. I also know that if you edit a fake player that is already in the game it will say the fake players name when he comes to bat even after you change him to a real player, for example, if you take a fake player name Jim Jones and change him to Kevin Millar it will still say Jim Jones when he comes up to bat.

As I said in Jim's other thread, this game is in dire need of a "name database", which would contain thousands of first names and last names that we could choose from when creating/editing players. That way, names could still be announced when we create some of the missing players. College Hoops 2K6 had a great system similar to this. Even though they aren't allowed to use real names, they still had a list of literally thousands of first and last names that the announcers could pronounce, most of which seemed to be based off of the real life college rosters. So even though real names are not allowed, you could still edit each player and pick from a huge list of first and last names, and the announcers would still say them.
            It's only a video game.

I think it has more to do with a lawsuit. Because of the free agent thing. I don't think they could even put them on the disk. Just opinion, but it makes sense!
