Re: Team Control
i personally (one of few i guess) dont need to have exact rosters and lineups etc on all 30 teams every game to make it enjoyable. ive played through mulitple seasons of mvp, asb hh, fps baseball pro 96,98 with no updated rosters... and loved it...
im actually glad they are taking the time to fix what needed to be adressed in the game (ps2) so that it will be a much better experience in the franchise mode... cpu trades, off season cpu signing trading logic etc etc. i love this game and this series... cant wait for 08!!"Baseball is life, without Baseball life itself ceases to exist." - Ken SpragueComment

Re: Team Control
I don't know, but it would be much needed for many of us. when one takes the time to think....think about 5 or 6 years ago...cant remember which game in the Triple Play series...but you had that option when the technology was NOT EVEN close to what it is now. Not to mention bytes/bit limitations.
And I THINK High Heat 2003 had this option....
I mean really...sometimes...those of us who REALLY like the game...WANT to play against other teams in other series other than our Franchise.....
For 2017...

Re: Team Control
As usual you're right on the mark, Carew. I used to have a dice system that I would literally roll out to determine what random game(s)/team(s) I would play on a given day. The rest of the time I would maintain current rosters/line-ups as the actual MLB season progressed. One can really get engrossed that way. It also helps play out or sim those "what-if" situations as they progress in a given actual season, while allowing a gamer to compare/contrast their experience when trades and injuries occur during real life.
Don't get me wrong, I enjoy franchises & career modes too but as you stated why can't "the game" in this case the "SHOW" not allow you to play season mode like the old days.
Now, or at least this past summer using (MVP) I usually select about 8 teams and compile a non-scientific statistical mass of team won/loss averages and means to "predict (Ha! Ha!) whose gonna win the pennant. I usuaully get 4 out of 8 playoff selections correct and maybe 2 or 3 WS teams correct. This year no different, 4 playoff teams right, and the Red Sox won 3 out of 8 in the WS.
Looking forward to the Show '08 whatever the case. But I sure would appreciate an answer to this particular question or should I say an explanation.
Oh yea, like you I'm not getting any younger turning 47 in a few weeks. Maybe you remember some of our old MVP posts.Comment

Re: Team Control
so that it will be a much better experience in the franchise mode... cpu trades, off season cpu signing trading logic
You want better trade logic? Isn't the logic of keeping rosters up to date the same? So, you wouldn't like the game as much with screwed up trade logic? Thought rosters didn't matter. Not trying to flame, but roster logic does mean SOMETHING to you. Just like the nutsos like me who like current trades implemented in the game.Comment

Re: Team Control @ mlblover
OK..I'll break it down this way....
you can still have your A's franchise intact, however.......
you check that days' calendar and see that the Mets are playing an interleague game again the Bosox at Fenway...with this option, you can play as either team without worry to your own franchise....in other words....ANY game on that particular days schedule is available to play..in real time...not sim.

LOL....
Hmmmm....i see
so that's the difference between you and I....while we both want the option to play other games other than the one our franchises are involved in, you prefer to WATCH it...while I prefer to PLAY it.....got it!

Re: Team Control @ mlblover
yeah i cant remmeber what game had this option but it was great... now i just have one question Carew... having that option of playing any game would give every user the ability to lets just say TIP the scales of their own divisiion races in their favor by allowting them to "throw" their division rivals games... i think that is one of the reasons they havent put it in... that is just my opinion.. of course"Baseball is life, without Baseball life itself ceases to exist." - Ken SpragueComment

Re: Team Control @ mlblover
that's fair...but in truth, it never really was a big deal. At the time I had the Mets when I played on High Heat 2003...it was pure bliss to BEAT the Phils or Braves in one of their games...especially when they were thisclose to the Mets in the standings. They (SCEA) need to stopp bull****ting and put the damn feature in....what's the big deal?
Like most features, if the gamer doesn't want it, you disable the function...ya know?
Again...how can ya have this technology 4, 5 or 6 years ago, but can't provide it now?
They wanna talk space? Ok...kill off that home run hitting/arcade feature....that'll solve the problem for starters....

Re: Team Control
Yes this question was asked last year and the reply was maybe next year. Are you guys Cub Fans over there....JK.. Yes High Heat did have this option..Still the best game for its time in my view. They should at least give us 4 teams how hard can it be.I am no programmer but come on High Heat came out in what 1999? There are alot of us who care about real rosters.. And Carew your CAPS were Awesome last year bro..Cant wait to see them this year.Incil we talked about this same option last year so I hope this will be the year they install this option.Comment
