"Now, while last year's effort was indeed impressive, this year's will push the boundaries once more: not only will we have native 1080p support, but the game will actually run at a silky smooth 60 frames per second while viewing that resolution. In comparison, MLB 08 only ran at 30fps in 1080p."

Well...it is in 1080p...
They "optimized" it for 720...but you can run it in 1080.

Nope....that should do it.
If you have the 1080p option checked on your PS3....it will run the game at that setting.

He has to UNCHECK the 720p option as well in the PS3's display properties, or the game will default to the "optimized" resolution of 720p. That will force it into 1080p.

My concern, is the site lists a 1080p picture, and the texture quality looks muddier than the 720p picture of '09 and not as crisp as even '08 pic shown. So something seems suspect. Would love a dev confirmation on this. Considering the pic does not look like 1080p should.

i just tried a game on 1080p finally and it looked beautiful on my 42" Dynex. more crisp then 720, and the frame rate was still up there. Feb 28th needs to hurry up nooooooowwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww!!! lol

I have been playing the demo on a Sony XBR 1080P. Just like you Kenny, crisp and smooth, a real treat on the eyes.

Thank you sony this game is going to even look better this year on my 56" inch t.v. This game will be the game of the year hands down no question.
