One button for dive/jump

So in the demo there is an option to assign one button (R1 or R2) for both jumping and diving. In this case the computer will make the decision based on the particular play whether to dive or jump.

Now I really like this idea but it didn't seem to work that well in the demo. For instance when I got a grounder down the middle and wanted to dive with my ss he made a jump. Did anyone of the guys that went to the community event checked this option out?

Otherwise I'll just have to wait and see for myself next week

Thanks.

I did not like it mapped to one button. There were times when we were playing and it seemed like the cpu would get confused with the command. I did bring it up to them while we were playing and they were checking into it.

Re: One button for dive/jump

I tried last night and immediately switched back when I jumped up for a grounder to Rollins.

The two-button system isn't confusing enough to warrant this change.

True, true, I just got too attached to the MVP05 right stick for diving and jumping. Worked flawless.
And yes you can use the right analog stick for that also in MLB but pressing down for a dive never felt natural to me.

I, too, like the analog stick for diving and jumping. Would like to see that used in the future.

I prefer the R-stick for jumping / diving.

Has anyone gotten used to the Sixaxis motion sensor jumps / dives?
