Well, you're probably not going to find to many people here who play "sped up" games or franchises. Most of us want good pitch counts, deep games and all that...even in the franchise (for me, ESPECIALLY in franchise...lol).

My average game is over an hour...and I've had some LONG ones too (last year, I had a nearly 3 hour extra inning battle...it was pure bliss-though my wife's opinion on that time may differ...lol)

Anyway, that aside...If you're looking to cut down, I'd turn off the presentational touches, stay around the zone when pitching, and swing at most good pitches you see. I wouldn't mess with innings played, because stats might become quite skewed that way.

You should be able to get through a game quicker by doing those things. IMO, you miss out on some of what's best about the game that way, but to each his own

Decent review...put a bit of a downer on me getting it though.
But I thought 08 was the best game ever...so I doubt the few bugs are gonna make that much difference.
Has the Franhcise interface changed from last year then?
Because I thought it was pretty decent last year.

Re: MLB '09: The Show Review

i too agree the commentary is better on 2k9,it flows better and who cant like gary thorne, his voice is just exciting in sports, but the show flat out blows 2k9 out of the water in all other aspects, its not even close..back to the announcing, vasgersian, sound good, but hudler and campbell sound too much like they reading from a script,i deal with it but it could be better... the perfect crew would be thom brenneman and joe buck, guys with enthusiasm in their voice..i always thought mike patrick on espn was awesome on sunday night football a few years ago..i hope the show10 really looks into the announcing next year,it be cool if they had like 5 random crews to do announcing and it would sjurprise you each time u know..oh well im going to bed lol

Thanks Chris. I like the way you broke down the fielding, pitching etc. Realistic gameplay is what gives The Show an instant classic value.

Re: MLB '09: The Show Review

Personally, I think Hudler detracts from the game. His comments sound "pasted" into the game. 2K9 has done a fabulous job with the announcing and seamless transition between play by play and color. It might be the best part of that game.

I hope next year SCEA looks at that announcing model and maybe cuts back to a 2 man booth. Matt is great. Campbell is very good, but too much repitition. Hudler reminds me I am playing a video game. The one weak spot.

Wow. How you keep justifying your opinions based upon a few video clips is amazing and a bit insane. You are kind of like a dog with a bone with this commentary thing.
