Way to Many Blown Calls Behind the Plate

I'm all for realism but when umps blown strikes thrown inside the plate more than 3 times in an inning...that's totally unexceptable.

I have to admit, that I'm a little dissapointed with 09 The Show so far on many levels. I might have to continue playing 08, which took me a long time and many changes to get perfected.

thats because of the umpires "personality". Different Umps have different strike zones, as in real life. I hate Wally Hughes and Woody Keller.

No way dude....Umps don't blow that many strikes that are inside the Zone....I'm not talking about edges of the plate. Not to be snotty....but you're completely wrong.....this is not realistic...it's a glitch.

I mean, How many times have you seen the ump blow a call where it's a total strike "IN THE PLATE" in one inning. That's rediculous.

I'm finding a lot of problems with this game that weren't in 08 and I'm dissapointed in all those OS people who played early versions and hyped this game so much. I don't think it's that good yet....But I haven't given up yet and hope there is a really good PATCH to clear up a bunch of issues with the game.

I would rather have inconsistent calls behind the plate..it really adds to the realism. It would be totally boring if the ump acted like a computer and only called strikes that were supposed to be strikes...do NOT change this SCEA!

Wow, you are really dumb. It is NOT a glitch. You obviously do not watch baseball. In real baseball umps blow calls ALOT. YEah they get alot right but they also get a good amount of calls wrong. Stop whining

I have to agree on this. Occasionally is nice and realistic but I think they went a little overboard on this.

For people giving this guy grief I don't think you understand the pitches he is refering to. He is refering to pitches that are right over the heart of the plate.

In real life umps may be a little inconsistent on borderline pitches/pitches on the corner but they don't blow strikes that split the plate very often.

SCEA, please don't listen to the initial post. Thanks! The game is near perfect IMO.

cristo i think they need o release a patch for your head. because this is no glitch and its realistic and i have no problem with it. and to say that you're completely dissapointed by this game and would rather play 08 to me is just kinda sad. that might just be my opinion dunno if anyone else agrees but that's my 2 cents

I don't mind all the blown calls, really. What I do think that would be neat is to see more emotion from the pitcher, varying from pitcher to pitcher. For example, a 38 year old veteran who throws a ball on the outside corner called for a ball would just freeze and look at the umpire funny, while a 22 year old rookie would throw his hands up in the air and look pretty distraught. You don't really see that in 09. That would be pretty cool.
I see nothing in your eyes
And the more I see, the less I like
                  Is it over yet?

This is what baseball is all about. No one umpire is perfect, each umpire has specific trends e.g tight K-Zones, wide K-Zones.
If it happens in real-life, in happens in this game.

About the umpire personalities, I don't have a problem like the OP. I like how there is a difference. However, I do wish that each of the personalities were a little more consistent. Meaning, if you see the umpire call the corners early, he shouldn't fray from that later in the game. Right now, I still think there is too much randomness within the particular umpires.

A patch isn't going to fix your issue, because it's not an issue for other people. Sorry that you are disappointed in us, lol.

I, for one, who played 08 religiously, love the fact that the umpire, blows more calls, I see it all the time, every game I watch on TV. That's how it is.
