Why didn't I get the Save??

I just won a game with the O's 4-1. I had Danys Baez pitch the 1st batter of the 9th and got him out. Then I brought in Sherrill who got the last batters out but wasn't credited with the Save. Isn't that a save situation?

No, it's not a save. With a 3-run lead in the 9th inning, your last pitcher would need to get all 3 outs to get the save.

If it were a two or less-run lead, then Sherrill would have gotten the save.

Or to put it another way, the tying run must be on base, at bat or on deck. In your case the tying run was in the hole.
