    Base stealing in franchise mode

    Hey guys,

How are you all doing in terms of base stealing? I usually just take one extra step on the lead and try and time the jump right after the pitcher's motion starts, but my success rate is around 20%, with guys like Theriot and Soriano.

It's definitely much more fun in RTTS mode, but the "lean" option, which really helped, didn't seem to work in a regular franchise game.

Do you guys have any strategies for base stealing, or do I just have guys that are too slow?

you dont even see many guys in the MLB stealing with just 1 step unless it is a hit and run

Well, I meant one extra step above the standard. It's considered aggressive, I think. Two extra steps is labeled as dangerous and is often a pick-off, Theriot has been picked off 2/2 when I extend two extra steps.

Taking 1 lead off step as opposed to 2 before attempting to steal.

Yea, I usually take one step after the normal lead-off, and just use L2 to have the runner take off.

I went and traded for McClouth in my Braves franchise, since I had stolen 1 base through the first 20 games. There's just noone on that squad with any speed whatsoever.
