Does batting stance have any affect on difficulty of getting hits, homeruns, etc. or is it just a visual thing?

It is primarily a visual thing and will change the size of the strike zone. Also, I am thinking that a stance that has alot of movement, both bat and body, might make it more difficult to time pitches more efficiently, altho that would be more of a personal thing experienced or not experienced by batters ...but as far as directly effecting your hitting, one particular stance being better than others....I don't think it matters.

Re: Does batting stance matter?
thanks for the repeat...
and you will notice that all batters in the game go into the default position right before the pitch comes in
most do this in real life to... all players except for the japanese basically...
but in a japanese game, the pendulum would be the stance all the players go into before the pitch comes in!Comment

While I agree it primarily aesthetics, it doesn impact the difficulty to a very small degree (at least for me). A guy with a lot of waggle and movement gives me fits trying to control at times. Then you get a guy like JD Drew who hardly moves a bit and I'm smoking line drives.
Obviously not a design intention but in that regard, it effects me at least.Comment

Same for me, for some reason Alex Rios is complete garbage for me his stance and his swing just screw with me. X Nady also just something about their swings make hitting with them impossible for me.While I agree it primarily aesthetics, it doesn impact the difficulty to a very small degree (at least for me). Actuall I find I hit better with smaller/crouched guys.
The smaller strike zone seems to work well in my favor. Plus if you get a more compact guy with great contact, your PCI thingy pretty much filsl up the whole zone.

Are you talking about pertaining to this game? If you are: I think so if you like keeping a game as real as possible. For instance if you start changing stances to your favorite player, you will lose his follow through.Comment

Someone standing up perfectly straight will have a larger strike zone than the same person in a very deep crouch.Comment
