Berevment fill in?

The date: April 25th 2010. The Cardinals sitting at 11-5 are prepared to host the Pittsburg Pirates. I am set for action when this screen pops up...

"Cliff Lee (Who I signed to a big contract in the off-season) called the front office this morning and said he had family issues. He will be unavalible today." Well Mr.Lee has been gone for 3 days to this point.

1. Shouldn't I be able to replace him? It wouldnt let me place him on the DL.

2. I had an off day prior, so I bumped Kyle Lohse up. Problem...I played the longest game of The Show I've ever played. 17 innings! The next day's starter Carpenter had to pitch the final two innings. I had to call up Mitchell Boggs to start the next day and rework my rotation after sending down Jon Jay.

3. My team is in shambles. No Cliff Lee, DL'd Ankiel for 11 more days, Colby Rasmus out for 55 more. Pitching staff burned out! Geez.

But really, has number 1 happened to anyone yet?

Wow, I never heard of that but that is pretty cool I guess. I would think you should be able to put him on the DL.

Well, I guess that now means the game should add a bereavement list to the game.

Man they aren't joking about that "most realistic baseball game ever" claim, are they? That's NUTS!

It sucks but you can't put a player on the DL if he's not jnjured. If you're worried about replacing him on the roster, you just need to keep calling people up and sending people down. Sucks but this is how it's handled in the majors.
