In terms of making plays Centerfield and SS or 2b.
In terms of getting a lot of putouts meaning more points is 1b.Ohio State - Reds - Bengals - Blackhawks - BullsComment

I have a Centerfielder, a shortstop and a pitcher. The pitcher is the best points wise however I found it boring after a while. Shortstop is the best fielder wise just because you get to make plays however I had a hard time making my guy a power hitter so I made a centerfielder and have found it fun so far except fielding gets a little boring and camera angles can get jumbled sometime.Comment

Re: RTTS Best Position to Play
I figured I'd be a good hitter so I wanted to make my team better by having a good hitter at a normally weak-hitting position. It was either SS, C, or 2B. Catcher was a bit boring so I chose SS. I figure having a SS that can be MVP and play good defense would really help any team I'm on. Plus, SS has a nice variety of defensive plays.Comment

I've got a LF/CF, and it's alright, but I think I might try an infielder next, maybe a 1B to get some putout points.
yungmizzou is right, though, about the outfielder camera angles. That's my first suggestion for The Show 10; a helpful arrow pointing you in the correct direction if the fielding/catching marker is off-screen. Something either at the screen border, or part of your player indicator "bull's eye".Comment

There is an arrow that points to the direction of the ball... It's on the red curson under your player.I've got a LF/CF, and it's alright, but I think I might try an infielder next, maybe a 1B to get some putout points.

Re: RTTS Best Position to Play
I created a second baseman with IF as the secondary position. I got to experience all of the infield positions while my player was assigned to the bench. I probably like second base a bit more than shortstop, but they're similar.
I would suggest making your player a utility IF or OF for his secondary position, rather than assigning him just one specific secondary position. That will reduce the number of games you sit out when you're a bench player (which your player will be at various times early in his career).Comment

The best position to play is the one that the Major League Club you are playing for has the greatets need. For example, trying to make the Cardinals at first base probably isn't going to happen for a long time.Comment

Re: RTTS Best Position to Play
I like pitching, but that is less about the game than it is me. I have always been drawn to pitching. But I want to go through a career as a position player when I finish with my pitcher. I was planning to make a 3rd baseman, but after hearing all the people who have talked about the inordinate amount of bunts, I think I'll go with 2nd base or Centerfield.Last edited by metal134; 05-26-2009, 04:19 PM.A screaming comes across the sky...Comment

Yeah, I forgot to mention what Mister Redbird brought up about choosing a position that your team is "thin" on. Take a look at your team's roster before starting a career, along with what players are in the position you're looking at. Joining the D'backs as a shortstop might not be too successful, given you'd be competing with Stephen Drew. Good point!
Metal134, I'm convinced the position and the difficulty you choose greatly affect RTTS plays. For example, I went from Veteran to All-Star with my left fielder, and I every ball hit by the opposing team was an impossible-to-grab rifled liner to the gap, or along the foul line, which went perfectly all the way to the wall. It's like the game comes up with the hardest ball for you to field, and throws that at you more and more as you raise the difficulty.
Anybody with me there?Comment
