Changing uniform numbers.
What causes players to change uniform numbers in RTTS? I noticed that Skip Schumaker was number 56 in 2010 and then in 2011 he was number 57. What gives? I assume it is the acquisition of another player with the same number. I don't have a problem with that unless it is marquee players. I don't want to see Pujols wearing number 7.Tags: None -

That or your new team has the number retired. You can also change it in edit player. If it reverts back to your previous number or changes to a higher number, it's one of those two things (retired or another player has it).
Also, in RttS (and I've already posted this in B/G) it initially doesn't check for that but if you go to edit yourself (like at the start of/during spring training) and not change it, when you leave it automatically changes it to another number. Example: I have an RttS SP in ST with the Cubs, I assigned him #10. 10 is retired (3B Ron Santo). Went to edit and left, changed to 11. -

I haven't found a way to edit other players' numbers in RTTS. In franchise it is possible but not in RTTS. At least not that I'm aware of.Comment

Or when that player goes to free agency and they sign someone with his number, then the original player re-signs, they lose their number. I had this happen with Brian McCann. He went to FA and I signed Aramis Ramirez, then re-signed McCann, making McCann number 20.Note to self: BUY MADDEN 12*
