    Continuously Optioned Down in RTTS

I just got this game and I love it. However, this issue is somewhat troubling.

Is this because I'm playing on "rookie" level?

I'm batting over .500. I know, not realistic, but I just got the game and am trying to get a feel for it.

I lead the league in hits, doubles, rbi's and have 20 hr's two games prior to the All Star game.

I have just been optioned down from Chicago to Charlotte for the second time this season.

Does this just continue to happen throughout RTTS no matter your performance? Is this predicated on anything? Is it because I'm a rookie in the majors?

I was hoping it wasn't a glitch when I realized that both times it has happened the explanation is that Konerko is coming off of an injury and they have to make roster space.

Oh, I'm also leading in All Star votes for shortsop by about 220,000 votes.

What's the deal with this? Is this just a part of RTTS? If so, it's not necessarily a game killer, but it's getting a little annoying.

ive never been optioned down in RTTS. its probably because alexei ramirez is still better overall then your player. im assuming he is still with chicago.

if that is the case. then checkout his contract and see when he becomes a free agent. then decide if you can overtake him before then or if you are willing to wait it out. otherwise ask for a trade.

If you get called up because of injury, you'll usually get sent back down when that player is healthy, regardless of your stats. Getting called up permanently relies more on your attribute levels.

Re: Continuously Optioned Down in RTTS

As of now.....RTTS doesn't take into account your stats as it does ratings.
Rating are key...and as long as you are not rated above other players in your organization.....you will be shuttled.
RTTS is a key component of the game...and I'm sure the devs are trying to refine it each year.
I guess we'll see what they come up with.

Re: Continuously Optioned Down in RTTS

Alexei Ramirez was traded for a RP during my second season while I was in AAA. They went with Cabrera as the starter for the rest of that season despite the fact that I was rated 1 out of two shortstops for the organization.

In the third season I made the team after spring training. I wasn't called up due to injury.

The organization currently has three shortstops, which I'm rated number 1. I'm rated as the 15th ss in the majors.

I went back and loaded prior to the MLB All Star game. I played the two games and that time it allowed me to get chosen for the All Star game where I went 2 for 2 with no errors. About two games later it went right back to optioning me down.

I think I'm a free agent after this season. Maybe that has something to do with it. Either way, it sucks. My team has the best record in baseball and they're sending me down when I'm batting over .500 and lead every hitting category with the exception of triples.

Anyway, it's somewhat releiving to know that some people have never been optioned down. At least I know it's not just a random occurence that happens throughout RTTS for no apparent reason.

Re: Continuously Optioned Down in RTTS

I have ran into this problem as well. I got traded from the White Sox to the A's in my first year while in AA for Jack Cust. In the off season the A's lost all of there RF (which my guys plays) so I thought I was in the majors after year 1. I was wrong. I didn't play much come spring and a LF or CF would play RF and I was sent to AAA. I hit .365 with 25 hr and 124 rbi's. I was not called-up until the September call-u's. I was placed in the starting line-up because I was the 6th best player on the A's roster. I hit .345 with 9 hr & 37 rbi's. I just knew that I would not be in the majors the next year but I was wrong I was the starter from day one and have not looked back. I singed a 1 year deal and hope to be traded by the deadline or I will sign with another team. I wanted to sign with someone else after year 2 but the only offer I got was a 7 year $11.5 million offer from the A's which I didn't take. So I got a 1 year $650,000 deal with the A's. I think playing in the majors will get other teams wanting me.
Like said before they base it on ratings and I think on experience. I was the 1 of 2 RF in the organization and only playing in AAA because they had a Bay (FA) and Holiday (both LF) in the outfield. It sucked but it was easier to get better in the minors then in the pro's.
So right now I'm a 20 year old having a great season on a bad team and will sign with anyone better by years end.
Relax, it's just a video game!

try asking for the start the next time you are moved up. i was in a different situation in AAA for the astros. my catcher overall was even with AAA catcher and starting MLB catcher. me and the other AAA catcher were pretty hot and hitting really well and im assume we were being platooned. when i missed the allstar game i was kind of mad and wondered why neither of us were moved up to MLB.

i asked for the start and won the position, a week later i get the call to the show and went straight into the starting lineup and havent looked back since.

i was actually drafted by the white sox and traded in first season to the astros. i really wanted to play for the sox too.
