Ok so I suck at hitting.. Like I can't do it for the life of me... But I play defense realistically.

So If I up the User hitting settings pretty much all the way.. would you guys consider it cheating?

With the braves through 2 weeks I'm batting no lie .131

Customizing the game so that you get realistic stats and results is not cheating IMO. Whatever gets the job done - do it.

Completely agree. I suck at the game and I have issues with my hands and my mind unfortunately...so my sports gaming has gotten worse over the last few years. In this game I am playing on Rookie and I had to still up the hitting sliders for myself. My games are very competitive overall and I often still have a lot of trouble hitting. I am currently near the bottom in hitting at about .250 I think for team hitting and not hitting any HR's lately. But I also traded away some guys from the A's that could do better just so I could focuse on the younger players.

But I always say adjust the game to where it is fun for you. That is what the different levels and sliders are for.

I usually have no hard time hitting in my chise early on, but once the generated players start filling up my team, i find it hard to hit.

Before i had Manny retire, i gave an A overall prospect his exact attributes, stance etc to see if it was the game, or if it was all in my head. I remind you i tore it up with Manny, but when i used this generated player i couldn't hit a beach-ball.

So when the years go buy, i just up my sliders a few till i get comfy and play on.

It's not cheating to adjust the game so you can hit. That's why there are so many difficulty levels and sliders. The game is designed to be customizable. I had trouble hitting when I started, so I put the sliders in my favor, and as I got better I moved them back down. I still get a few more hits per game than what would be realistic, but I only score 3-4 runs a game on average.

Does it matter? its your game, you paid for it. You should enjoy it, why should u play it and have no fun, if bumping the sliders makes the game more fun why not!! thats the entire point to playing video games!

If you've tried everything to improve your hitting, then yeah there's no shame or problem in you doing that. In my opinion the computer still gets a little bit good sometimes, so there's no harm in you helping your cause, as long as you don't put the power slider all the way up then there's no problem

I have Guess Pitch on, and my Contact all the way to the right.

My team average is .260.

So I'm on the right settings for me, and having an absolute blast.

Why would it possibly matter what "we" think about whether you are "cheating"? It's not cheating to adjust the game so you can enjoy it.

It's not cheating. I'm in my forties now, and it takes longer for my brain to get the commands to my hands lol, so I have to crank up my hitting to compete with the CPU also. That's what sliders are for. Everyone has a different skillset.

Bottom line is if you are happy with the results and enjoy playing the game, that's all that matters!

Why would anyone care if you do things to make the game more enjoyable to you. And further, why would you care what any of us think here. The very fact that you ask makes me believe that you don't feel good about it. In the end its just a game man, enjoy.

In no way is this cheating!!! if you can't hit, i wouldn't want you to hit .180 with Pujols in franchise/season for example. That is if realism is what you want to achieve.

Yes its cheating and the OP ought to be ashamed of himself. When I told my poor old mother about this thread it made her cry. So what I want you to do is turn the game on, go to the slider section, put all the sliders back to the default settings, and will just forget this thread ever happened. Step up your game friend, dont step up the sliders.

Always do what is fun/works for you and dont worry about what other people think. They put sliders in the game for a reason. As long as your not abusing some kind of glitch or something then I dont consider it cheating and even then....its your game, do what you want.
