    RTTS Player Retirement

I know there's already a RTTS thread, but I think this deserves its own. It's quite an achievement and this is a summary, not a progress update. I've been playing nothing but RTTS since the game released, have simmed some but played majority of games myself. Allstar difficulty. I'd like to see what other guys have done.

Kevin Richards, SP #10 YOS: 23 years

2009: Started out with Oakland Athletics organization, played 8 years there including four
years in minor leagues, four in majors. Made it into starting rotation.
2017: Signed one year contract with Baltimore Orioles, got traded to Seattle Mariners
    midway through season.
2018: Signed two year contract with Seattle, became a free agent after 2019 season.
2020: Cleveland Indians offered me a two year contract, won back to back World Series!
2022: Re-signed with Cleveland, played three more years there making the playoffs 2
    more times.
2025: Signed with Toronto Blue Jays, played 5 years...didn't make playoffs.
2030: Signed with NY Yankees for one year, made it to ALCS.
2031: Returned to Oakland to finish career. No one would sign me cuz I was 43! Chose
to try out for Spring Training with team that gave me my start.
2032: Retired, made Hall of Fame!

    Overall career stats: 279 W - 169 L, 3.44 ERA, 3222 K

Career highlights: All-Star team: 12 times, Cy Young winner: 2 times
    League Leader Shutouts: 7
    SO: 5
    CG: 6
    ERA: 4

Now I can concentrate on Madden.

      Re: RTTS Player Retirement

my best guy (as far as record goes) was named Paul Kendrick i named him after one of my friends anyway

He signed a 3 year contract with Houstan and spent 3 years in thier farm system then i tryed out in springtraining and signed a 4 year contract with the Astros. worth 4,000,500

at the end of my second year in the Majors i had won my first Cy Young award (19-5 , 0 , 183 k's, 2.69 Era ) it would take me 17 years to win my first World Series with the Astros i retired the following season

      Overall career statistics W 314 L 120 S 0 K's 3613 Era 2.99

i spent 18 seasons in the Majors all with the Astros

      Cy Young Awards : 8

      World Series Championships : 2

      All Star Games :14

easily a first ballot Hall Of Famer if i do say so myself

It is never cool, under any circumstances, to name your RTTS player after a friend. Maybe in franchise mode on your team if and only if you are already a created player on that team. And you have to clearly have better stats than him. Just kidding guy.
I take my hat off to you guys for the dedication to finish these careers. Congrats. Must feel good at the end.

That's pretty cool. It would have been awesome if you tracked his progress in a RTTS Wiki. I currently have two guys going right now...a power hitting 1B with the Rockies named Howard Shaw in his 2nd MLB season, and Damon Whitlock, an 18-yr-old catcher that rocketed to the Majors in his first pro season. You can check out my Wikis on them, the links are in my signature.

Only if I don't keep the skill attributes current by training. I suppose that may be somewhat unrealistic.

That is the only problem I've had with The Show since day 1: Your skills need to realistically peek and decline. It takes a large chunk of the excitement out of someone if you never stop stealing 80 bases a year or throwing 100mph fast balls.

It might actually be fun to adjust and take a different approach to you're batting/pitching strategy (ie Learning to hit for power when you can't steal dozens of bases anymore or Learning to hit the corners and include breaking pitches) later in the career.

Some attributes (such as speed) should not be adjusted solely on player controlled points.

                      It's an easy fix honestly
