Possible to Setup Playoffs?

I would like to play through the Playoffs that model the real life matchups. Is that possible with this game? I don't think so, but I may be missing this option. Thanks.

unfortunately it doesn't look like it. I was going to do this earlier (haven't played for a while) and was surprised there was no custom playoff option. Guess I just never noticed before. kind of disappointing

I'm going to start a 29 game season (saving it before the first game). and will keep simulating/reloading until I get something close I can play out.

Handicap the teams you don't want in the playoffs. Remove their star hitters and pitchers from the team.

When I was a kid I made my own street hockey goalie gear out of bleach bottles, cardboard, canvas, and mattress foam. Today, kids expect their parents to drive over to Walmart and buy them want they want. I don't mind having to create my own Playoff Mode. Has to do with my upbringing I guess.

Simple....simple thing to do.
You can easily get the correct teams into the playoffs...just takes a little bit of ingenuity.
Get off your arses and do something yourself you lazy sods!

Disappointed this wasn't in the game this year. But I've been running a little MLB Playoffs 2009 simulation myself. For the NLDS/ALDS, I'm just playing exhibition games. But I noticed you can play 7 game series in Rivalry Mode. What is it all about? Does it just keep track of stats throughout the "series"? I've yet to mess with it, since the lowest number of games is 7 and the division series are only 5 games.

Handicap the teams you don't want in the playoffs. Remove their star hitters and pitchers from the team.

That's kind of what I ended up doing. I lowered all the top players ratings for non playoff teams.

Second or third sim I got all the correct teams and match ups for the 1st round. The only thing off was the Yankees got the wild card, so they opened on the road at Minnesota. I'm playing as the Phillies though, so it was close enough

Still hope they add a playoff mode next version.

The problem is, once you start the season there's no way to switch teams. so you have to use the team of who ever would post it.

It's very hard to set them up exactly.

The problem is, once you start the season there's no way to switch teams. so you have to use the team of who ever would post it.

I'm pretty sure you could play any game on the schedule.....so you can "use" any team, right?...even in playoffs(someone correct me if I'm mistaken)
