Must be a scratch on my disc or something...

I'm playing MLB 09: The Show. In my RTTS, I'm losing 7-2 with 2 outs in the bottom of the 8th inning. Their starter has thrown over 110 pitches. I get a single and I decide to steal second to pad my stats. The 1st baseman isn't holding me on so I take a big lead. I take my lead, getting as far away from 1st as the 1st baseman, but they keep trying to pick me off. So far, about 20 tries. Whatever happened to defensive indifference? Any manager in the world is going to tell their pitcher to concentrate on the batter in this situation, but apparently they are bound and determined to pick me off 1st base. I feel like I'm in Groundhog day, or there is a scratch on my disc or something, same thing over and over and over and over...you get the point.

I think after about 3 or 4 times I would have just taken a shorter lead haha.

But yeah that does seem pretty ridiculous.

Actually, my team came back to win the game 10-7 with a walk-of grand slam in the 9th. It doesn't change my thought in defensive indifference, though because the 8th inning ended with the score still 7-2. I finally got my steal after probably 30 pickoff attempts. I was kinda ticked off in the 9th because I came up with 2 on, 2 out and only needed a HR for the cycle. None of the pitches was even close to the strike zone. The guy after me hit a walk-off Grand Slam on the first pitch he saw.

a 5 run lead in the 8th, with 2 outs, wouldn't lead me to allowing a baserunner to just take 2nd base. 2 outs in the 9th and a 5 run lead, yes, but not the 8th.

I agree with CB, why allow the runner to take second?
