Re: MLB '10: The Show Fact Sheet
Is someone a litttle cwankey?? lol. I suggest you read the LONG list of new features and then look at games like Madden, that just insert new tackling animations then charge 60$ every year. Thats what your talking about I thinkComment

Re: MLB '10: The Show Fact Sheet
The weather is very disappointing. Doubleheaders/rescheduling is a big part of roster strategy.
Opening/closing roofs would be nice too. In addition to them always being open, when you started a night game, it was really dark because the lights were for whatever reason, not on full strength for the first 2 innings of the game or so (even though they always would be on full force no matter what). Perhaps variable game times...not just 1 and 7? Perhaps we can pick (this would save Cubs Nation from having a heart attack over not enough day games at Wrigley)
Someone else said it, but I'll ask as well...would an extra inning day game turn into night time? Last year it couldn't, which was a little weird.
DL problems...if I remember correctly, if you have 5 people on the DL, then the AA team is 5 players short? This is especially frustrating if you're in AA on RTTS...as a relief pitcher, I was pitching like 10 games in a row because we didn't have enough pitchers...which brings me to....Single A? Eh? Eh?
With Roster Control on...no injuries...very uncool...I guess I sort of see the logic in why, but I am fine getting 18 popups that say I need to go fix the rosters due to injury before I advance the day, it's better than there being no injuries just because I want to make sure the lineups and rotations are right.
Then I'm not 100%, but I felt like the camera angle affected some things. With the strike zone on no mistakes, I would get a full length of the baseball off the plate on the left side, and could throw the ball just about entirely in the zone on the right and it would be called a ball. Since the camera is slightly to the right like it is for most major league broadcasts, it seems to me that the camera threw it off. I also think it was a major problem for Left Fielders. My RF could fire home with no problem, but if my LF would usually throw closer to 1st base than home from the same distance. If my theory is wrong, maybe someone can correct all that for me.
The catchers calling pitches is the coolest thing in the history of ever...Comment

...I wish they would have WEATHER...ugh, it is such an intrical part of the game (football moreso, but baseball as well...the beginning AND end of the season it gets coolllld, so I wish they would do something about it) - doubleheaders are a MUST!!!!
...agreed, I wish they'd fix the actual start times of the games (NOT JUST 1:05 pm & 7:05 games) - I play as the Chicago Cubs and Wrigley Field "day games" MAKE the Cubs.
...and yes, I hope if a day game going into extra innings eventually turns into a night game...I hope so.Currently playing on PS5 & XBOX SERIES X:

Sorry fellas, mistakenly removed this in Russ's original post.

As it is every year this is not every new edition, tweak, or change that was made in the game this year is in the fact sheet.
I.E. Simple but frustrating game play issues have been addressed. It's now easier to go the "easy" way with two outs, even the CPU does it now.
3-6-3 double plays are now in the game. Runners at second will take a bigger secondary lead offs allowing them to get better jumps on base hits so they don't get robbed of a run. To counter that we added a wide variety of outfielder crow hop animations.
much quicker and stronger looking throws. Upgraded the Throwing Meter so that it truly reflect each players weakest and strongest throw based on his attribute.
We have a tighter fielder to runner collisions at second base now when they break up double plays. More slides at all bases including home plate for close plays. New run down logic with better, more responsive change of direction animations. More over the top exciting plays. All new rob HR's, dives, sliding catch plays, tumbles, rolls, over running the bases, getting caught on a pick off leaning the wrong way, base runner line drive reactions,. Not only did we add a ton of game play animations for variety, we added the majority of them to make the game play and feel better. Robbing HR's, diving, picking off runners, stealing bases, hit by pitches, check swings, etc...
We have a whole new check swing system, three levels, it not only looks great but it feels just right. When you check your swing early, you get a very small check, all the way up to checking it late, where you held on to the swing for just a bit to long.
All new hit by pitch and avoid system for the batters. We captured over 60 animations for hit by pitches alone. The batter can now avoid or get hit by any pitch that comes his way. Based on the situation, the batter will react properly.
If there's a runner on third and there's a wild pitch, the batter will step out of the box and either tell the runner to advance by waving him in, or stay put. Ball 4 wild pitch he will take a look and then run down to first in case you want to try and advance him.
and much more.
We now have independent difficulties for pitching and for hitting. In addition B Ma has tweaked the pitching meter so now its more tuned to your input. (pitcher confidence and pitch confidence is still a major factor as well) However now your timing on the accuracy and velocity of the pitches mean more in the outcome than in did in MLB09.
GREAT STUFF!

Re: MLB10 The Show Fact Sheet
Honestly Knight, I believe the question is legit. Being that I'm a Yankee fan I had to go through the framerate problems in yankee stadium in 09. I wonder if they fixed this problem for 10? Do you know anything about this Russell? Thanks

Re: MLB '10: The Show Fact Sheet
What an awesome list!
Interesting extra's from the list posted on pastapadre.com:
Multi-Branch Fielding – Branch Point Technology goes to a new level as gamers you can now take full control of fielders and break out of any animation in the process. Change a fielding decision and branch out of any animation after the first branch point.
3-Man Booth & Progressive Commentary – Rex Hudler, Matt Vasgersian, and Dave Campbell return to provide the most comprehensive commentary available. Additionally, the game’s Progressive Commentary system changes dialogue by adapting to current actions and situations.Last edited by LastActionHero; 01-05-2010, 06:51 AM."When it's all set and done, reality is the best innovation."Comment
