Lineup Intro
I was pretty surprised they sped up the lineup intro in 09 when in previous MLB games they introduced the players one by one

Re: Lineup Intro
I had made the suggestion of having alternating line-up intros that they could cycle through every so often instead of just picking one style and having it carry out through the whole season. Just a way of keeping things fresh!“The saddest part of life is when someone who gave you your best memories becomes a memory” -

Re: Lineup Intro
Yeah, I think something needs to be different. I played the PS2 version until December (then I got a PS3) and they introduce the whole lineup. Just showing one player is annoying. I like to look at each player's stats before the game, but it is not possible on the PS3 version. Only thing that I liked better on the PS2 than the PS3 though, so I can't complain toooooo much!!!!Comment

Re: Lineup Intro
I also agree with this! Sometimes in a real broadcast the first batter swings at the first pitch, and they don't have time to put up today's lineup. Have that alternate! Maybe sometimes have it come up right away, sometimes have it come up after the first pitch, or maybe after the first or second batter. Everything seems so scripted. Same things with the defense. Most TV broadcasts don't have a pop-up come up anymore. They have a camera go around the field and show each player as the announcers say who is playing where. Heck, we might even be able to catch a player picking his nose a time or two.
Also, I live in western Wisconsin and I get both Twins and Brewer games on cable, but I know that both of them have pregame shows. And I am pretty sure most others teams have these also. If they could incorporate something like this into the game that would be great. Obviously it wouldn't be a half an hour, but get the lineups and pitching matchups out of the way, and talk about a hitter from each team that has been standing out lately would just add so much realism. Instead of having Rex say insane comments during the game they could have him or someone else (hint, hint) do a pregame show where they show them in the studio talking about the upcoming game.
Sorry for the long post!!Comment

Re: Lineup Intro
The current way is too repetitive. They talk about Milton Bradley every time in my Cubs franchise. It would be a whole lot better if they mixed it up a lot more.
The old way was sweet too because it way say "this guy really could use a day off" if you played someone who was tired.Comment

I could imagine the overlay interrupting the gameplay, but maybe I'm wrong, after all we're talking about SCEA here not 2K.Comment

Re: Lineup Intro
From the CES video it looked like 09 lineup intro. I would like to see it go back to a ful intro and maybe talk about a guy that had a great or poor game the day before.MLB: Chicago Cubs
NFL: San Diego Chargers
NHL: Chicago Blackhawks
NBA: Chicago Bulls
NCAA: Iowa HawkeyesComment
