    If anyone is having problems with psn I have found out the fix!

    I know this isnt MLB the show related but it kinda is so please sticky


    I was reading earlier about this PSN meltdown and started worrying about the imminent release of THE SHOW 10 so I started researching and found that if you take the CMOS battery out of your "FAt" PS3 (THE OLDER MODEL, not slim) it will fix the problem!! I was hesitant at first but then thought what the heck and did it and it actually worked. I will post the video on how to take the ps3 apart.

    FWIW the CMOS battery is located under the blu ray drive and is wrapped in green plastic all you have to do is take the wire with plug on the end out, and then put it back in.
    You will then turn on your system and put todays date in and you're good to go!!

    P.S. This will void your warranty however my warranty is well over now so it really didnt matter to me.

              gonna wait to see what sony says..im pretty sure they know that..dont want to screw it up even more that it is..good look tho

                  Well I think i'm gonna wait till i hear more news from sony. If I have to wait a long time, i'll read more in-depth about it. Please upload a video if that's the case.

                                          From an Sony EU Community Leader's post (http://community.eu.playstation.com/...313748#M126581) the problem is caused by the PS3's internal clock so the bug will happen if it's powered. Sounds like they're testing a fix already so it hopefully won't be too long a wait if your PS3 is affected.

                                          PS. if you're not technically inclined I wouldn't recommend the OP's fix. It's really easy to short something if you don't ground yourself properly especially during dry weather like winter.

                                              Yeah, the owner of the store in which I copped The Show was telling about this earlier today. He said if PSN doesn't get it fixed soon that I could just bring my PS3 to him and he'll fix it for me for free.

                                                  Thanks for the fix idea BUT just let SONY take care of it. It should be fixed soon and i dont think anyone wants to void their warranty so a little waiting won't hurt. Should be back to normal by Tuesday night possibly? idk just speculating...

                                                          The battery fix worked for my launch 60G. Warranty expired a looong time ago. I'm ready to play!
