    RTTS Tips fOR Hitting HRs

What are some tips i can get for my RTTS.I created a SS and first i sucked same as when i had 09 and then i got hot and started hitting singles. Now how can i hit Hr's. I time my hitting and i either foul it or it pop up(out). I really want to be tough to pitch to, a player who hits a lot of homeruns. I know is early but at least 6 hrs in 30 would get me goin and im in like my 24 with none or RBI..ANy help

    Never use the power swing.

And move your Right Stick up. This helps influence a fly ball. I did this a lot in 09' and got a ton of homeruns this way. I hit 36 in my last year I played in 09. Don't go overboard with it though or else you will get a ton of pop-ups.

I would also say to not stress over it yet. Your power ratings i am sure are horrible right now. I remember last year i didn't start to hit a fair amount until season 3.

        Power swings are nice for:
        1. Balls go out faster, thus less chance to get caught by infielders
        2. You can KILL the hanging off-speed pitches.

I think if your power attribute is low, power swing helps a lot if used properly. But once your guy has 99 power, using only the contact swing can give you 100+ HRs a season even on HOF.

          I disagree.

The power swing is incredibly useful if you use it right. If you only use it in a hitters count, especially 3-1, then I see nothing wrong with it.

I agree with the right stick up, though.

Yeah I can see how it can be useful if you use it in a 3-0, 3-1 count. But I guess that I've never had a problem hitting HR's by just using regular swing + RS up so I've rarely used power swing.

I think for a player new to the game or a RTTS player in AA when your power ratings are low you should wait to use the power swing.

Yeah, I've never had a problem hitting homeruns without the power swing, but it is possible to hit more with it. And if you are building as a power player (which would lead me to believe you are increasing your power stats as soon as you can), then you want to hit as many homeruns as possible.
