Re: does anyone playing on legend?

I play on this level, as I did last year, and have had success. The only advice I can give is stay focused, play baseball, and don't fall into patterns with your pitching. I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see. I miss the old days of Operation Sports :(

Re: does anyone playing on legend?

Legend is a bit ridiculous. I have a video of Adrian Gonzalez hitting a check swing HR to tie up the game in the bottom of the 9th to tie the game. The CPU is usually feast or famine, it's either too easy to pitch or too hard.Comment

 Good advice...
I also played Legend last year and as Country says.. You have to stay focused. I'm in the middle of a franchise game now on Legend.

WOW it's now in the 8th inning and Yankees down 6-5. We get bases loaded 2 out. Boston had brought in Okajima and promptly issued an IBB to Tiexiera. I Bring in PH Thames and on a 1-1 count he launches one for a grand slam. (Got the Monster killer trophy) Yanks now up 9-6 Joshua: Joshua:

Re: does anyone playing on legend?

I am having no problems at all winning on Legend. Seriously about 99% of the time I listen to the catcher and throw exactly what he wants. This is very important. Don't make mistakes with your off speed stuff and throw stuff hard/high effectiveness.

I play with default sliders except solid hits down to 1 for both me and the cpu because both me and the cpu get way too many hits with this at default. I am starting to find this actually too easy to pitch so I think I am going to have to do some tweaking.Comment

Thiiiis. I'd say it's more like 90% for me. But the most important things as far as I'm concerned are missing down with your off-speed stuff and up with your high fastballs. Just like the real thang! You just always want to be missing out of the zone. Similarly there are places you simply never pitch. Most of the plate, in fact. Even if you listen to the catcher's calls most of the time as I do, modify his proposed locations slightly. Nothing in zone should ever be belt-high and nothing in the zone should ever be up the middle. That leaves you with four corners and no fear of missing off the plate. Miss low by releasing off-speed stuff late and miss up by releasing fastballs early. Resist patterns and be mindful of hitters timing. (Did he rip your 2-1 fastball up the line foul? He's early. Time for off-speed away. etc. etc.)

Re: does anyone playing on legend?

Im currently trying out HOF in 10 and i played 09 in legend from day 1. Like mentioned all I did his build patience and look for the perfect pitch or try to draw a walk. Working the count helps me out big time you know when one is coming or you just earn your base.HoustonAstros l Texans l RocketsComment

Re: does anyone playing on legend?

hi, first time user. I do play on legend with default sliders. Currently 7-3 on my fantasy franchise. Here are some tips that i have picked up:

pitching: I usually also follow the recommendations of the catcher and like to get ahead in the count. Stay near the edges of the strike zone, but know how your pitcher's pitches move, so you don't leave a slider down the middle. If i'm ahead or in a favorable count as a pitcher, it's good to "set up"/waste your next pitch, so you don't give up a hit on a 0-2 or 1-2 count. I also don't fill my pitching meter all the way, but usually near or below the mid point in the yellow section. I always have an eye on the pitcher's endurance, and have a reliever ready just in case.

hitting: this took the longest time, but pitch recognition. it's easy to swing at everything, but working the count is key. I use the power swing unless i have 2 strikes, but the key is focusing in on a section in the strike zone, and if it's there, then rip it, especially in a favorable hitting count. If it's still a strike on the corner, be patient and let it go.

 Hope this helpsComment

I played on legend for a bit last year in RTTS and I think my best batting average was something like .223. I prefer playing in Hall of Fame mode.Comment
