Does this mean that the wind is playing TOO MUCH of a role in homers? Is anyone else seeing this?

Does Wind have Too Much Effect?
So I'm playing an exhibition game Rays (Me) At. Blue jays (CPU) on Legend difficulty and the wind is blowing out to straight center 15 MPH. Right now its the top of the 3rd with 1 out and there have already been 7 homers, all solo. 5 for me, 2 for the CPU.

I haven't noticed in terms of home runs, but I have noticed when I pop a ball up that a 20 mph wind or so will move the ball across most of my screen if it goes high enough. The shadow of the ball will be halfway between the line and the dugout and it ends up being fielded inside the diamond. -

It is quite rare for wind to be blowing 25 mph out to center field. You should expect a ton of home runs with that much wind. If you need any indication that wind is a major factor simply look at Wrigley Field. A ton of home runs are hit out when the wind is blowing out and it is a complete pitcher's park when it is blowing in.Comment

Woops. Typo. Meant 15 MPH. Your point is still valid though. It is quite rare for wind to be blowing 25 mph out to center field. You should expect a ton of home runs with that much wind. i play as the cubs and have had an average amount of homers at wrigley. there was one game where the wind was blowing out to left at 18 mph and there were a combined 9 homers. the wind did carry more than half of them out it seemed.Comment

Re: Does Wind have Too Much Effect?
Just a tip - The wind effect slider is probably the only slider where you can see an instantaenous, real-time change in the game. If you tweak that slider mid-game, you will see the wind speed increase or decrease on the pause screen.
If you feel like wind is having too much of an effect, note what the speed is, turn it down, and see how it plays after that. You probably don't want to do this in the middle of a season though for obvious reasons - just exhibition or something.

Re: Does Wind have Too Much Effect?
Hey guys,
I am resurrecting this thread because about 20 games into my Yankee franchise I have had about 4 games where the wind was blowing out at least 12mph, and I have had more than 4 homers (8 in two cases) during each of those games. I know it may be because I'm the Yankees, but does anybody else experience too many HR's at the default slider setting for wind? It's a bit ridiculous that Jeter has 8 HR's total mostly because of those particular games.
Btw, I'm using Psycho's set on All-Star.
Thank you.Comment
