Would the Braves be a good challenge?

I would love to do a Braves franchise (not on this site, just for myself), but I'm a little worried that it won't be a big enough challenge. I know it's tough with the Phillies in the division, but I don't like that the Braves are ranked so high. Basically, it seems like I'll be the favored team when I play anyone except the Phillies. Has anyone been using the Braves, and if so, are you finding it difficult enough? If they prove to be too easy, I'd probably resort to someone like the Brewers or Reds.

You want a challenge? Start a franchise with K.C, Pittsburgh or Washington.

If your looking for a cinderella story, I'm not sure why you think the Braves would fit. They'll be fielding the best team they've had in years, and are definitely expected to win some games.

If you want a challenge, you could always use the Nationals. =)

Sorry, let me be more specific. I've always like the Braves, and have never used them for a franchise. That being said, I want a challenge, but not so much that I want to use a really low team (Royals, Nats, Pirates, etc.). I want a challenge, but still want to be able to compete, since I plan on playing all 162 games. If the Mets or Marlins were ranked higher, I'd feel much better using the Braves. But I just feel like I'll run away with the wild card, and end up challenging for the division. I want to be a team where I have a realistic shot at the playoffs, but still need to play really well in order to get there. Would the Braves fit that description, or do you think it will be too easy?

I think a better team that might be more of a challenge with would be a team like the Reds in the NL or the Twins in the AL. The Braves happen to be my fav team so I probably would be biased by saying this but you are more than likely to receive a challenge by playing with the Marlins than with the Braves because they are stocked at pitching and have an average hitting team. A power hitter or two probably would vault them above the Phillies.

I guess it depends on your skill level. I'm playing with the Braves and their solid all-around.

I honestly believe that expecting to win the wild card is a realistic goal for the Braves.

If you really want to play with the Braves but want to give yourself some challenge, you could always toss away some players.

              Ever think about the Rockies?

This is probably very true in the game. I somehow got the Brewers to trade me Prince Fielder for Tim Hudson, John Smoltz (FA, what can I say, Braves fan forever), and Martin Prado (big fan of Infante). I happened to play the Phillies the next day and crushed them. Keep in mind I'm a first year player so some of the sliders were tweaked on the rookie setting (power at 2 notches above and timing at 4 notches above default). I beat them 17-6. Lol.

I've thought about the Rockies, but for some reason I just haven't enjoyed using them in exhibition games. I've been thinking a lot about the Tigers (some veterans that will be looking to bounce back, and some great young pitching).

I think if you created urself(if ur into doing that) for the Rockies it would be alot of fun! Don't make ur guy super human, but they need another power hitter, and Catcher would be perfect for that team(or 3B). But most ppl don't like to create themselves, just depends on what u like.

I was in the same boat as you basically. I started with runnin with my Royals but honestly I knew I had no shot of competing for the playoffs. It then took me about 6 more started franchises to finally find a team like exactly what you are trying to find. I finally settled on the Twins (without Joe Nathan) I love AL Central ball and besides the Royals the Twins are really the only other team I do not hate in the division.

Things are going well with them too, I feel most comfortable with the Royals and the Twins and since the Twins have somewhat of a chance of making a run at the World Series, I chose them.

1-0 so far about to take the mound With Slowey after Lost is done.
