    Baserunning Controls

I am having a ridiculous amount of trouble base running with the default controls. I cannot tell you how many important runs I have lost and outs that have been caused as a result of me lacking proper control over my base runners. Any suggestions, is the other option better? Please help, this is the lone problem with this game and it is causing me SO much frustration

I use auto base running. Give that a shot if you dont mind playing that way. The cpu still runs me out of innings occasionally, but I dont mind it because I get realistic results overall. If you are playing online, im not sure if this option is available.

      Re: Baserunning Controls

      Main things to remember are:
      1) Look at the base-running window.
      2) Flick the L-Stick to highlight specific runner
      3) use the Face Buttons to determine which base you want the runner to go to.

Scenario #1) Man on first. So, use the Baserunning Window to see where he is. Aim the left stick towards him to control him. He'll light up. and then press the SQUARE button to send him to 3rd - or X Button to send him home.

Scenario #2) man on second and you want to send him home on a single. Point the L-Stick towards him. Make sure he's hilighted, (he'll be flashing) and press the X Button.

Scenario #3 - man on 2nd, man on 1st. Flick the Left Stick to highlight man on 2nd, press X to send him home. THEN, flick the L-Stick towards the man running between 1st and 2nd and press the SQUARE Button to send him to 3rd.

      * Also, I find the L1, R1 (advance runner, retreat runner) NOT as responsive as simply using the face buttons. Example: if you are caught in a rundown between 1st and 2nd base, don't use the L1 or R1. Instead, simply press TRIANGLE or CIRCLE button to send your runner to 2nd or 1st base respectively.

Same thing on a Sacrifice Fly. make sure the man on 3rd is hilighted, and then press X to send him home.

On a single, I also get in the habit of flicking the L-Stick everytime a batter is running to 1st base, (even though u don't have to when he's going to first, he will highlight automatically half way down there ) and then sending him to 2nd base (TRIANGLE). As he rounds 1st, I send him back there by pressing the CIRCLE button. It's just something I do to practice my baserunning control.
I do it on Pop Outs as well. practice. practice. practice.

Recapping, always try to look at which runner is highlighted in the base-running window, and use the appropriate face/base button.

      Hope this helps!

i use auto base running and while i like it, it has been aggravating at times. Ill get a deep fly ball to the outfield and the runner will go half way and then just come back..while ill hit a blooper into center field and the runner will go from 1st and try to make it to third and always get thrown out.
