    Best Pitches in the Game

I would like to know what the community thinks are the best pitches in this game. Which pitches do you find most effective??

Running Fastball. You can throw it as hard as a 4-seam, and it has a lot of movement to it.

Curve-Ball and Palm ball....its very effective.

But overall the ol' standby Fastball/Changeup works wonders.

The slider has a lot of fans here and I guess I'm one of them. For a change, I've been using the slurve with my RTTS pitcher.

I like using the 2-seamer, sinker, rising 4-seamer above the zone and the slur. I use those pitches all over the zone and I have pretty good success.

In MLB '08, I got very effective with a sweeping curve against right-handed hitters (and some lefties as well) and I'll probably use it again this year.

I also love the straight change-up. Fooling guys with that good ol' pitch is very satisfying.

You're gonna get almost every pitch in the game mentioned at some point in this thread. Here's why...

As usual, my answer is off the beaten path .... there is no "best" pitch.

The "best" pitches in the game are any pitches thrown with high rating attributes (speed, movement, etc.) and thrown intelligently .... changing speeds, changing location, etc.

A change-up right down the middle can be a brilliant pitch, or an idiotic pitch.... depends on the situation. I struck out Ryan Howard with one yesterday.

A great changeup, usually down and in.......I get the CPU to swing and miss alot with this pitch, usually following a couple fastballs. The change in speed confuses the CPU...

I don't know which one is best but my favorite would have to be the circle change. I love bringing it in back door against righties and watching lefties swing and miss when I drop it out of the zone, down and away.

Re: Best Pitches in the Game

I heard an interview with a local minor league pitcher last year and when he was asked what his best pitch was, he said:

                            "Strike One"

                            ***

Lots of truth in that though. Doesn't really matter what you are throwing as long as you keep the hitters off balance....that is why the old "Fastball/Change-up" combo is so effective.

Personally, in this game I like a good hard 2-Seamer. You can aim it in the zone and have it work out of the zone, or you can aim it out of the zone and have it work back in. Follow that up with a good change-up and you are golden.

I would also have to say a good 2 seamer. I get lots of K's with that pitch. I love that tailing action. My second choice would have to be either a good heater or cutter. The righty cutter going up and in to lefties is nasty. Lots of broken bats, or swing and miss altogether. Just dont miss when you throw it up and in though and leave it out over the plate.
