I'm so obsessed with this game this year. My issue is not so much sliders but what level to play on. I keep going back and forth from AS to HOF. They seem so close and yet there are games when they seem far apart.
After 40 games on mostly HOF, I just don't seem to get anything other than singles using "X" on fastballs only. I get plenty of HR's and doubles on offspeed (assuming my timing is right) and if I use the L stick, I see some nice hit variety. But X is really handicapping me this year on HOF.
I've lowered pitch speed to catch up to some of these fastballs. Man, anything over 93 mph is simply opposite field for me!
My hit totals are similar for both, I can draw a good amount of walks on both, it's just that my hit variety seems so much better on Allstar than HOF with X only.
My fear is AS will lead to too many hits and offense as time goes on forcing me to move to HOF anyway. Sometimes, HR's feel cheap on AS.
Last night I had a "wheelhouse" "perfect" hit but it was solidly hit to second for an out! (X only) What has happened to the timing on HOF?
I thought wheelhouse/early/perfect would result in some nice hit variety?
I can't hit any better than wheelhouse/perfect! I just wonder if on AS I would have at least hit a line drive through the gap?
Anyway, I'd like to know if people who play AS vs. HOF feel settled on AS and see low hit games and struggle at times for realism.
I really need to setlle on a difficulty level and enjoy the game.
