I want an unrealistic RTTS season.

Now, I know what you're thinking, "Oh great, another annoyed gamer who isn't getting his way." Well, you're right, but is there really anything wrong with that? I totally respect the human element being given the utmost respect in this game, but is there anything wrong with wanting a hilariously ridiculous season on the mound in a baseball video game?

I want that 32-0, 350 K, 0.00 ERA season. I want every call at the plate to be perfect. I want 27 K's in a game. Why? Because it's a video game! Just for one season! I want the CPU batter to not be able to get one hit on me. As a matter of fact, I don't want to give up a hit all season! Become a Hall of Famer in one season! I respect baseball as much as the next guy, and maybe even more than him. However, I have a sense of humor, as do all of you. Wouldn't you all want just one ridiculously unrealistic season in this game?

In Road to the Show, I really tried to accomplish this, but I have to compliment SCEA for the job they did on this game. Every difficulty is reasonably difficult. I play on rookie with the CPU batting sliders at 0. I still had a ridiculous rookie season charting over 300 K's, 20+ wins, and a Sub 1 ERA in AAA/MLB combined...but just one complete game. I couldn't even get a shut out with everything at 0! For example: I had a no hitter go into the 8th inning against the Yankees. I thought, "Well, I'd understand not getting a no hitter since they're so rare, but I should at least get a shut out." After I did give up that inevitable first base hit...I was pulled from the game after the bases being loaded when in my mind, I struck out the side because pitch track called almost every strike in the zone a ball that wasn't in the middle. I gave up two walks (both I guess were 4 balls, 7 strike counts) and a grand slam to eventually lose the game 4-3...on rookie...sliders at 0...giving up only two hits including the grand slam.

After this, my controller didn't work for a while because of how hard I slammed it against the floor, but it has had a successful 2 week recovery and works like new. Now, don't look at this as just another post by a pissed off gamer, but look at it as a tongue in cheek plea for The Show to stop being amazingly realistic for at least one season! This is far and beyond the best baseball game I've ever played, but also the most frustrating.

Happy Baseball season and I hope you enjoyed the read!

I REALLY hope this was not a serious post. If not, then you probably should switch to that other game.

I know what you're saying. People here seem to be lacking a sense of humor. It's fun sometimes to just go in and blow everyone away. With everything at 0, yours at 100 and on rookie, you should never lose.

If nothing else, this is an argument that the sliders should have way more effect. I tend to agree. CPU contact at zero should yield zero hits, CPU contact at 100 should yield no swing-and-misses.

          Cheers.

I want this sort of ease too. Not literally all ks and stuff though. But I like the game easy. Scea did horrable with sliders not making a difference one bit in some ways. All CPU to 0 is sooooooo not accurate. They still get TONS of hits and runs and give up way few hrs and stuff compared to what 0 should be in a slider or 100.

I read the op and like it much. I actually lolled for real. A little tiny laugh. I think the post is fun and shows he has a sense of humor and can take the game lightly when he wants.

I sure wish I could have the CPU sliders at 0 and have the CPU actually play like it. But nope. Scea made it way too hard and extremely unrealistic. Ruins the game and fun for me. 07 the show is by far the best baseball game ever when it comes to last few years and sliders/ease of use.

sliders effect players attribute ratings which in turn effect gameplay. If it didn't work that way, then ratings would be trumped by any slider adjustment that is made within the game.

Re: I want an unrealistic RTTS season.

The only change I wouldn't mind seeing to RTTS, which might satisfy guys like the OP, is the ability to set my starting attributes to anything I wanted, without having a "point total" like it is now.

I understand the reasoning for having things the way they are, and it's not that I'm complaining, but I'd like the choice to either do things the "hard way" by working slowly through the minors as I develop my skills. Or start out as an "uber-prospect", the kind of guy who can break into the league as a 19 year old phenom.

I love RTTS, and it's incredibly satisfying to finally get that first Major league hit after years in the Minors (in one RTTS I have, my guy spent the better part of 9 seasons before finally earning a shot in the Majors). But let me choose how I want to play the game.
