I had runners on first and second with no outs late in a game, so i decided to lay down a sac bunt. However, i'm pretty bad at recognizing strikes and balls when i'm laying down a bunt. So, i ended up bunting at a pitch way inside.
The pitch missed my players bat but hit his right shoulder instead. The ball ricocheted to the right, over the catchers glove and rolled to the back stop. At this point, the game treated it like a wild pitch, and i was able to advance my runners still with no outs.
Does anyone know how this would be treated in real life? For some reason that doesn't seem right to me.
